“Hey!” Bianca bristled. “Vivienne…”
Wait! The person standing before her wasn’t that annoying little beggar from before, but the chosen one with the power of foresight!
Bianca immediately plastered on a smile. “What are your orders?”
“Just do what the old lady says and stay out of trouble,” Vivienne said.
Bianca froze for a moment.
“Troublemakers only grow to be four-foot-eleven,” Vivienne added.
Bianca shuddered. She was currently only 4'10", a major sore spot for her.
Seeing that Bianca had settled down, Vivienne lifted her chin. “Get out of the car.”
Bianca grabbed her arm. “Wait, there’s something really urgent. Can you tell me first?”
“The future you is a clumsy six-footer!”
Bianca was stunned, her face full of disbelief. Was that really true?
Even Isabella Lexton, who was a year younger than her, was taller now. And Vivienne, of course, was a good half a head taller, which was the exact reason she always got overpowered in their fights.
Vivienne also found it strange. She had always been taller than Bianca, so how did she end up shorter by an inch after they both stopped growing? Because of that one inch, she had never won a fight against her since.
Benedict had been exchanging pleasantries with elder Mrs. Crowhurst for some time, but the two kids in the car still hadn't emerged. He turned and impatiently tapped on the window.
“What are you dawdling for? Aren’t you going to come and greet her?”
“Coming, coming!” The car door opened, and Bianca jumped out with a grin. “Hello, Great-grandmother.”
Vivienne got out from the other side, holding Little Stray, and stood about ten feet away. Her gaze was full of longing. “Hello, Great-grandmother.”
Elder Mrs. Crowhurst’s eyes were sensitive to the light. She squinted as she sized up the two girls. “You must be Bianca?”
“Yes,” Bianca said, remembering Vivienne’s words and nodding obediently.
The old woman nodded, her gaze slowly shifting to Vivienne. “Then you must be Vivienne?”
It was the same in her past life. Her great-grandmother called Bianca by her first name but used her full name when addressing her. At the time, Vivienne had immediately assumed the old woman disliked her.
“Thank you, Great-grandmother.”
Bianca cheerfully pulled Vivienne inside. Vivienne felt a flicker of doubt and looked back at Benedict and elder Mrs. Crowhurst.
Was it her imagination, or did it seem like elder Mrs. Crowhurst was deliberately sending them away?
She clearly remembered that in her past life, it was elder Mrs. Crowhurst who had accompanied her to see the room. In a fit of pique, she had deliberately found fault with everything and was later gossiped about by the staff, who said she had the attitude of a princess without the destiny of one.
Seeing the two girls walk away, elder Mrs. Crowhurst gently patted Benedict’s hand. “Let’s go to the main house.”
Benedict carefully supported the old woman and followed her.
The Ravenshire family estate was hundreds of years old, with blue-gray bricks, old tiles, ancient trees, and aged vines. The summer breeze swept through the alleys, and ceramic vats collected rainwater from the sky.
After passing through the main hall’s flower-lined path, a structure named Ravenmoor Tower came into view, with four suited bodyguards standing at its entrance.
Elder Mrs. Crowhurst pointed to an open window on the second floor. “He’s in there. Go on.”
