Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 114

Isabella jumped. She spun around to find three people standing behind her, one of whom was Cyril, the very person she had been daydreaming about.

The embarrassment was unbearable.

Isabella's face flushed crimson. She was so embarrassed she didn't know how to react.

Julian had no patience for such petty, unrefined behavior. He ignored Isabella completely, sat down in the pavilion, and took out his phone to play a game.

Isabella glanced timidly at Julian. She recognized him as the son of one of the heads of the family's second branch. He sometimes came to Obsidian Estate for the New Year's banquet, but he never sat at their table, so they had barely interacted.

He had grown much taller since the last banquet, and his gaze seemed sharper.

After a moment's hesitation, Isabella turned to Cyril, her cheeks flushed. "Cyril, just now... I was just..."

She couldn't bring herself to finish the sentence.

Cyril exuded an aura of serene calm. "There's no need to explain something so minor," he replied gently.

"Tch," Julian snorted, looking up from his phone. "What a pro. With that kind of smooth talk, it's a shame you're not a diplomat."

He clearly wanted nothing to do with the attention-seeker, yet he framed it as if he were being considerate.

Cyril seemed to casually lift his gaze. Their eyes met, and a silent, tense undercurrent crackled in the air between them.

Cyril simply smiled and turned to walk out of the pavilion.

"Hah! I wondered how long you could keep up that act. Couldn't take it anymore, huh?" Julian muttered, his eyes returning to his phone screen.

Isabella looked back and forth between them, then chased after Cyril without a second thought.

"Cyril."

Cyril turned into a covered walkway and suddenly stopped.

Isabella hurried around to face him, cautiously stealing a glance at his expression. "Cyril, thank you for sticking up for me back there."

Cyril's expression was gentle. "I didn't stick up for you."

"Cyril, you don't have to explain. I understand completely."

Isabella shook her head. She had already made up her mind about it, and it didn't matter to her if Cyril denied it.

Cyril fell silent for a moment. He glanced toward the sunroom, but before he could speak, Isabella launched into a new topic.

"Cyril, my mother and I came today to clear up the misunderstanding from the other day. That incident wasn't what you think it was. Once my mother clarifies things with the master, we'll be moving back in. When we do, I'll have her make you some more food from Vindrell City."

Cyril's eyes flickered. "I think I smelled shrimp in the container that day. It smelled delicious. It's a shame I wasn't fortunate enough to try it."

Serena smiled in return before taking Isabella's hand and leading her out of Northwing Court.

Cyril turned slightly, his gaze resting dispassionately on Serena's retreating figure.

No one knew that he had actually seen Serena a year ago, in Dorian Ravenshire's villa. At the time, he had just hacked into the villa's security system and couldn't hear what they were saying. But that night, Serena's behavior had been overly familiar as she constantly cozied up to Dorian, while Dorian himself maintained the facade of a perfect gentleman. Cyril had found it disgusting and closed the feed after only a few seconds. He never saw Serena on the surveillance footage again.

He had assumed the woman that night was just a call girl Dorian had brought over while Victoria Montclair was away. It wasn't until he saw Serena again at Obsidian Estate that he realized things were not so simple.

Dorian had apparently laid his plans long before Cyril had even set foot in Obsidian Estate.

Initially, Cyril had no interest in Serena. But then Vivienne Lexton had cured his allergic reaction with medicine, which forced him to pay attention to the mother and daughter. At first, he suspected Dorian had told Serena about his allergy, and that Serena had then instructed Vivienne to give him the medicine. However, after his little test just now, Cyril was certain that neither Serena nor Isabella knew about his seafood allergy.

If that was the case, things became much more interesting. How did that little brat know?

A dark undercurrent swirled in the depths of Cyril's eyes.

It seemed everyone here was hiding a secret.

"They're long gone and you're still staring. Are you always this nice to everyone, Cyril?"

Cyril's eyelids twitched slightly as he turned around.

Julian wore a taunting smile. "Having to be so careful with some down-on-their-luck freeloader family that sponges off the Ravenshires. It's almost pitiful to watch."
