"Cyril, Julian, what are you two whispering about over there?"
The corner of Julian's eyebrow lifted. He clasped his hands behind his neck and turned around. "Nothing. Didn't you say I'm too impulsive and that I should learn from Cyril? I was just getting some pointers."
The old man glanced at Cyril, then beckoned for them to come closer. Maintaining their unspoken understanding, they walked toward the sunroom, one behind the other.
Caspian gestured at the table, and the two sat down on either side of him. A housekeeper came forward to set a cup of tea before Cyril and pour a glass of ice water for Julian.
"Grandfather, what's the plan for the west suburbs today? I'm about to grow moss from being stuck in Obsidian Estate these past few days," Julian said, leaning back in his chair, his posture casual even in front of the old man.
Cyril, in contrast, sat perfectly upright. As he lifted his tea, his gaze unintentionally flickered over the metal box on the master's desk. The glance was fleeting, and he immediately lowered his eyes to his tea, revealing nothing.
The old man shot Julian a glare. "You've only been here a few days and you're already growing moss?" He then turned to Cedric. "Have them come in."
"Yes, sir." Cedric nodded, left the sunroom, and returned a moment later followed by two men.
Cyril slowly set down his teacup. He recognized both men. The one carrying the medical case was Dr. Cole, who had treated his injury before. He had an even stronger impression of the other one—the burly man who had slapped the old master of the Whitmore family.
Julian glanced at them without any change in his expression; he clearly knew them as well.
The old man pointed to the man on the right and looked at Cyril. "Cyril, this is Jasper. He's responsible for all security for the Ravenshire family and at Obsidian Estate."
Cyril nodded in acknowledgment.
"What's going on?" Cyril asked.
Dr. Cole remained silent, merely glancing at Cedric.
Cedric replied, "There's no need to be nervous, Mr. Cyril. We are here to administer a drug-resistance antibody."
"A drug-resistance antibody?" Cyril didn't understand what that meant.
Cedric elaborated, "Yes. All the men in the Ravenshire family receive this antibody vaccine starting at the age of six. It's meant to increase the body's resistance to drugs. With this immunity, common sedatives and aphrodisiacs will have no effect on you. You'll be able to overcome them with willpower alone. And most importantly..."
