After a long moment, Caspian looked up. “Kneel.”
Leander was embarrassed. “Dad?” The younger generation was watching. If he knelt now, what authority would he have left?
“Kneel.”
Leander froze. Realizing the old man was truly furious, he didn’t dare refuse again and obediently knelt.
Caspian looked up, his gaze shifting from Dorian to Evelyn, and then to Leander. “I don’t care how successful you are out there, but when you are part of the Ravenshire family, you follow the Ravenshire rules. If I find out any of you have done anything to tarnish the family name, I don’t care how high you’ve climbed—I can knock you right back to where you started!”
Dorian’s head buzzed. Wasn’t that a jab at him?
Caspian tapped Leander’s shoulder with his cane. “I’m giving you three days to clean up your mess. If you can’t, I will reclaim all the shares of the Ravenshire Group under your name.”
Leander’s eyes widened. When he confirmed the old man wasn’t joking, his face turned extremely grim. “Dad, I understand.”
The old man waved his hand. “Get out.”
Utterly humiliated, Leander didn’t want to stay a second longer. He turned and stormed out.
The old man looked at Dorian and Evelyn. “You two, out as well.”
Dorian glanced back at Cyril and then bowed his head. “Dad, please don’t let this upset you too much.”
Evelyn also gave Julian a meaningful look before following Dorian out of the room.
The atmosphere in the room was oppressive.
Caspian pinched the bridge of his nose. After calming himself slightly, he pointed to the sofa opposite him. “Sit.”
The three young men hesitated for a second. Alaric sat on the left, Julian on the right, and Cyril in the middle, with enough space between each of them for two more people.
For once, Cyril couldn't manage a smile. He just shook his head.
The old man skipped over Alaric entirely and let out a long sigh of relief. Good, good. His youngest grandson hadn’t been corrupted yet.
Julian looked uncomfortable. “Grandpa, why are you asking this?”
Caspian thought for a moment. “Your fathers are disappointments. I can’t trust them with the Ravenshire family. So, starting today, I’m going to begin your formal education.”
The three of them showed a flicker of emotion.
Caspian’s expression grew serious. “Throughout history, power’s greatest weakness has always been scandal. So, we’ll start your lessons with women.”
The three of them were at a loss for words.
