Isabella immediately stepped forward, uncovering the insulated container herself. "Vivienne, Mom spent six hours on this soup. Can't you have just a little?"
Vivienne shook her head. "Not a single drop."
Isabella couldn't believe that after they had humbled themselves this much, Vivienne was still so ungrateful. She snapped angrily, "Aren't you taking this too far? Do you really think you can become some kind of princess just because Grandpa dotes on you? Don't forget, your last name is still Lexton. At the end of the day, we're the real family. If you had any sense, you'd think carefully about who you should be good to."
Serena turned away, covering her face as if heartbroken, letting Isabella launch her attack. She had said all the nice things; it was time for some harsh truths.
Vivienne, however, looked amused. Since Isabella was determined to pick a fight, she would indulge her.
"Sorry, but I really can't drink the soup. Grandpa just had Cedric prepare some of the family’s rarest wild ginseng for me. It’s a centuries-old root worth a literal king’s ransom—thousands of times more expensive than your little pot of soup."
"!"
Thirteen million dollars?!
Just how rich was the Ravenshire family?
Serena whipped her head around to look at Vivienne in shock, while Isabella was too stunned to speak.
Vivienne shrugged nonchalantly, a chilling smile on her beautiful face. "If you were me, what would you choose? Would you turn down a multi-million dollar ginseng soup for some pork soup that doesn't even cost two hundred dollars?"
Isabella was astonished that Vivienne could be so brazen about her materialism. She forced herself to say, "Vivienne, how can you compare them? This soup is filled with Mom's love for you."
"Love?" Vivienne turned to Serena. "How much is love worth? Love without money to back it up is just a house of cards."
Vivienne paused for a moment, then laughed. "You're right. And I have you to thank for teaching me so well."
Serena fell silent, dragging Isabella out of the hospital room.
Vivienne nonchalantly looked away, pressed the service bell, and went back to playing on her phone.
When she sensed someone approaching, she pointed to the floor. "Clean this up."
As the words left her mouth, the adorable Little Stray, wearing a pink tutu, appeared before her.
Vivienne was speechless.
