Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 154

The moment Cyril stepped out of the hospital room, the smile vanished from his face.

He glanced down at the pinhole listening device in his palm, a layer of shadow instantly clouding his clear eyes.

He had been standing right next to Dorian when the assassin called, so he had clearly heard Dorian say four words: "Handle it cleanly."

He had assumed the matter would end in a stalemate, but half an hour later, Dorian received another call. After hanging up, Dorian, contrary to his usual demeanor, flew into a rage and smashed his phone.

Cyril immediately guessed that someone had turned the tables.

Dorian was a dark and calculating man who wouldn't tolerate any threat. From the moment Vivienne had openly disrupted his plans, she had entered his line of sight. And Dorian's methods for investigating people were always the same; Cyril had seen them all before.

When he learned that the Lexton mother and daughter were visiting, Cyril guessed it was at Dorian's instruction. He hadn't intended to get involved, but if Dorian was resorting to such methods to investigate the Alderwick incident, it meant the conflict between Vivienne and Serena wasn't an act.

Since Vivienne wasn't one of Dorian's people, he owed her for the small favor she'd once done him.

He never liked being indebted to anyone. He had spoken up for Vivienne before out of consideration for that gesture, but in the end, she had managed to break the deadlock herself. So, by taking the listening device from under her bed today, they would be even.

Cyril pocketed the device and returned to his own hospital room.

In the small living area, Dorian had been waiting for some time. When he saw Cyril enter, he gestured to the sofa opposite him.

"How did it go?"

Cyril sat down calmly. After a moment of thought, he said with a serious expression, "Dad, when I went in just now, the atmosphere between them was very strange. It didn't seem like they had a good relationship. It was more like they were sworn enemies who had hated each other since the day they were born."

People tend to judge others by their own standards, and Dorian was no exception.

Cyril was an expert at digging perfectly tailored traps for people.

Meanwhile, Alaric had just left the second hospital room when he remembered he had something to do.

When leaving Alderwick, he had tried to return the silver locket he found to Mrs. Crowhurst, but she told him it was a farewell gift for Vivienne and asked him to return it to its owner.

Alaric had intended to go back, but the thought of how Vivienne had not only berated him but also tried to use him ignited a nameless fire within him. His desire to return the locket vanished.
