"That wretched girl, has she lost her mind? How dare she play tricks on the Whitmore heiress?"
Serena was currently hiding in the fitting room of a luxury boutique, secretly making a phone call.
Lately, she had been totally infatuated with a young male escort from the club. Today, she had finally managed to arrange a shopping trip with a group of wealthy wives. They had all agreed to splurge and then take their boy toys on a cruise to unwind.
To make sure she had a good time, Serena had even bought an expensive watch to win over her young fling. The last thing she expected was to receive a call from the school, and even worse, to be asked to negotiate with the Whitmores.
Serena had pretended the signal was bad and hung up, immediately calling Isabella Lexton instead.
The news of Vivienne's prank on Julianne had spread like wildfire at the academy. Isabella seized the opportunity to add fuel to the fire, exaggerating the entire incident.
Serena's temples throbbed with fury. The Whitmore family was a powerhouse; they could crush them with a single finger. Yet that stupid girl had managed to scare the Whitmore heiress half to death.
"Mom, I heard the Whitmore family brought a whole team of people. They're going to sue Vivienne for attempted murder. Please don't come to the school. If you do, she's definitely going to drag you down with her."
Serena felt a surge of intense irritation. Ever since summer break, Vivienne had become completely uncontrollable. Everything was spiraling out of her grasp.
However, Isabella's warning was a stark reminder. She absolutely could not show up right now. Wasn't that wretched girl acting tough because the Ravenshire family had her back? Fine, she would just play dead and see exactly how much the Ravenshire family really valued her.
"Mom?"
Under the floral trellis, Dr. Cole and a few female assistants were having tea in the courtyard. They immediately stood up when the girls entered.
"Miss Lexton, Mr. Ravenshire ordered a complete physical examination to ensure you haven't sustained any injuries or hidden anything from us."
Marissa hurried forward, taking Vivienne's hands and looking her up and down. Her worry was incredibly genuine. "Miss Lexton, the bathwater is ready, and we've laid out fresh clothes for you."
Vivienne nodded and turned her gaze to Bianca. Bianca, sensing what she was about to say, waved her hand dismissively. "Don't worry about me. I need to go back and change too." She had gone a little too hard with the blood packs and was inevitably covered in fake stains.
The two temporarily parted ways. Bianca headed straight back to Echostone House, and after failing to find Talia Ravenshire anywhere, she immediately went looking for Tessa.
