Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 18

“What’s all this noise?”

Isabella could afford to be childish, but Serena could not.

The only reason they were able to live under the Ravenshire roof was because of Vivienne. In truth, Vivienne was the only one Caspian had ever wanted to adopt. Isabella was Serena’s child with another man, and the old master had only taken them in on Vivienne's account. If Isabella dared to lay claim to the Whitestone Lodge, Talia wouldn't even have to lift a finger; the Ravenshire family would have them pack their bags and be out of Obsidian Estate by morning.

Serena was well aware of this fact.

Looking at Isabella, who was too angry to control her expression, Serena felt that her daughter had had it too easy, and it had made her stupid.

But as the one in control, she was even more displeased with Vivienne’s current behavior. It was a reminder that everything she had at Obsidian Estate was an illusion. The moment Vivienne was unhappy, it could all vanish like a puff of smoke.

Serena’s face darkened. “Isabella, you need to remember that the Whitestone Lodge was a gift from the old master to Vivienne. Don’t get so used to certain things that you start thinking they’re yours. That depends on whether you have what it takes.”

The words stung Isabella, and her face went pale. It wasn't as if she hadn't tried to win over the old master in the past three years, but no matter how hard she tried, he only had eyes for Vivienne.

After putting Isabella in her place, Serena turned back to Vivienne with a warm smile. “Vivienne, Vellmont Lodge is large, but it’s not easy to prepare a new room on such short notice. You and Isabella are sisters; don’t let a small thing like this create a rift between you. You’re the older one, so you should be more generous. Isabella is young and doesn’t know any better, so don’t be difficult along with her. There’s no need to move rooms. Who knows what the old master will think if he hears about this, right?”

Her tone sounded like a suggestion, but it was a decision.

Vivienne didn’t reply, but a smug look appeared on Isabella’s face.

Isabella looked as if she’d seen a ghost. For the past three years, Vivienne had been completely obedient, doing anything to please her mother. And now she dared to smash a bowl right in front of her?

Serena realized the gravity of the situation and started to reprimand her. “Vivienne, you need to stop this tantrum. If you keep this up, I’m going to get angry! If you disappoint me, I’ll have no choice but to take Isabella back to Vindrell City. Don’t forget, I only stayed at the Ravenshire estate for you.”

There it was again, that lame excuse.

Vivienne couldn't help but laugh at herself.

Her father had died young, and Serena had run off with another man right after giving birth to her. She grew up with her grandmother. After her grandmother passed away, she was all alone in Vindrell City. A kind neighbor had helped her get in touch with Serena. She had cried, begging Serena to come back, but Serena had told her— “You don’t have a mother. From now on, just pretend your mother is dead.”
