Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 181

If memory served her right, Alaric's personal wealth was bottomless. It was the kind of money you couldn't spend in a lifetime.

Alaric lowered his gaze and went back to his book. "Fine."

He was agreeing that easily?

Vivienne could hardly believe her ears. Testing the waters, she slowly held up three fingers.

"That much?"

A mere three million dollars wasn't too much to ask, was it?

It was as if Alaric had eyes on the top of his head. "Wesley, give her three thousand."

Vivienne had never been more speechless in her entire life.

He was the heir to a multi-billion dollar empire, and his opening offer was three grand?

After a long moment of silence, Alaric sensed something was wrong. He looked up. "Is that not enough?"

Vivienne looked at him with utter disgust. "What do you think?"

Growing up in a secluded mountain retreat, Alaric had a very warped concept of money. He remembered his mentors and fellow disciples spending maybe twenty or thirty bucks on a meal. In his mind, a monthly allowance of three thousand dollars was an incredibly generous standard. He genuinely had no idea why Vivienne looked so offended.

Vivienne didn't hold back. "I spend more than that buying clothes for Little Stray in a month! Other girls' brothers hand over black cards with no spending limit."

Alaric pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling a headache coming on. "Thirty thousand. To buy your good behavior."

Thirty thousand?

It was barely enough to pay off her little informant once or twice, but it was better than nothing. She would have to figure out the rest later.

It was obvious now. Alaric was a massive cheapskate. No wonder he had kicked her out of Obsidian Estate for three years without divorcing her. He was definitely terrified she would take half the Ravenshire fortune.

Vivienne pouted, pulled out her phone, and started playing a game.

The car finally settled into a peaceful silence. Wesley closed his eyes and silently savored the tranquility. He needed to cherish this. After all, his boss had just paid thirty grand for it.

"Other brothers carry their sister's backpack. Don't forget why Grandpa made you bring me here, Alaric. Do you even know how to be a proper brother?"

Alaric remained silent.

Vivienne shook her head, looking utterly disappointed. "Honestly. You have zero intuition. I have to teach you everything."

Alaric still didn't say a word.

Vivienne clasped her hands behind her back and stared at him for a moment. A wicked smile slowly curved her lips. "Wow, you really are terrified of Grandpa's trial, aren't you?"

She had provoked him the entire ride, and he had swallowed every single insult.

Alaric stiffened slightly. The mischievous smile on her face eerily overlapped with the vicious grin from the video call where she had thwarted his assassins.

Vivienne spun around happily to lead the way, but before she could take a step, a strong hand gripped the back of her collar and spun her right back around.

"Do other sisters act this rude and not even say a simple 'thank you'?"
