Just then, a slant of moonlight spilled across the easel behind her, bringing the painted moon to vivid life.
Cyril lowered his gaze and stepped into the Blackbriar Wing.
"Mr. Cyril, you're finally home."
Lennox stepped forward immediately, his face lined with concern as he reached for Cyril's backpack.
Cyril shook his head. "Not this time."
"Mr. Cyril, you're hurt." Lennox finally noticed the dark bruise blooming at the corner of Cyril's mouth.
Cyril nodded dismissively. "It's nothing. Lennox, please fetch the first-aid kit and some bandages."
Lennox nodded. "Rest in your room, sir. I'll bring it right up."

The moment Cyril entered his bedroom, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out, glanced at the screen, and answered with a mild tone. "Dad."

Cyril paused for a moment before offering an objective assessment. "He's easy enough to deal with."

"Sir," Lennox's voice called from outside the door.
"Enough. Just don't let my words go in one ear and out the other. Next time you cause a disaster, I won't be bailing you out!"

Then there were the thugs who cornered him at the school's back gate today. Based on their combat skills, they clearly weren't local street punks. What kind of ordinary thug carried professional military-grade combat knives?
