Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 225

[Ding—]

[Prompt: Aurelia's Bond Route — Progress 1/2.]

The robotic voice chimed in Vivienne's head right as she and Bianca landed on the ground, coming face to face with Cyril.

He had been standing right around the corner. He had seen Vivienne shove Aurelia off the wall in broad daylight.

The silence was deafening.

Bianca was overwhelmed with guilt, but knowing they couldn't both go down for this, she bravely stepped forward. "I was the one who—"

"That was a total accident," Vivienne interrupted smoothly, not missing a beat.

Bianca's mouth snapped shut. She stared at Vivienne with profound reverence. They had literally been caught red-handed, and she was still denying it? Vivi's psychological fortitude was scarier than a professional hitman's.

"An accident?" Cyril repeated softly. He let his gaze drift between the two girls before turning on his heel and walking toward the main courtyard without another word.

Bianca watched him leave, utterly confused. "Did he actually buy that?"

Vivienne couldn't help but laugh. "If you were so scared of getting caught, why were you about to confess?"

Bianca instantly puffed out her chest. "Who says I was scared? My reaction time is just a little slow, that's all."

Vivienne stopped smiling and looked at her intently. "Bianca, what went through your head when you saw me push Aurelia?"

Bianca blinked. "What do you mean? She had it coming. Nobody forced her to climb up there. Plus, it wasn't high enough to kill her."

"That's it?" Vivienne pressed. "You don't have any other questions for me?"

Bianca shook her head. "Nope." As if afraid Vivienne wouldn't believe her, she quickly elaborated. "Vivi, the second I decided to trust you, I made a promise to myself to trust everything you do. Having the ability to predict the future is an insane power, but you used it to save me. That was the exact moment I realized you are a genuinely good person. A really, really good person."

Vivienne offered a soft smile and looked away, staring up at the top of the brick wall.

The truth was, she wasn't nearly as good as Bianca thought.

If she was truly a good person, she wouldn't have just orchestrated Aurelia's downfall.

After surviving the incident with Alderwick, she knew exactly how impossible it was to tear off a societal label. To survive, you had to burn everything to the ground first.

She wasn't a saint, and she had no intention of playing savior to everyone in her path.

Terrified to disrespect her employers, the maid tried a different angle. "Mrs. Ravenshire is waiting in the side parlor with the Montclair boy. She heard that you and Mr. Cyril had a tiny altercation with him yesterday, so she..."

"So she wants to use me as a punching bag to avenge her idiot nephew?" Vivienne finished dryly.

Bianca exploded. "We are absolutely not going! Who the hell does she think she is? And you!" Bianca pointed fiercely at the maid. "Remember whose family signs your paychecks! Why are you running errands for an outsider?"

"No, no, no!" the maid panicked, slapping her thighs in distress. "You've got it all wrong! She dragged Mr. Cyril in there too. Because of her status as an elder, Mr. Cyril is too polite to fight back. He's going to get eaten alive. But you're different, Miss Lexton! You wouldn't even let the eldest Ravenshire master walk all over you, so I figured..."

Ah. Now it made sense.

Vivienne's expression softened into something complicated. "Is Cyril really that popular around the estate?"

Bianca scoffed loudly. "When my mom was chasing me with a broom, none of you maids ran off to find backup to save me."

The maid's mouth twitched awkwardly. "That's completely different. We can't just stand by and watch an outsider bully one of our own."

"She makes a fair point," Bianca said, clapping her hands together. She turned to Vivienne with a fierce grin. "You have to look at the master before you kick the dog. Nobody gets to bully a Ravenshire inside Obsidian Estate."

Without giving her a chance to argue, Bianca grabbed Vivienne's wrist and dragged her straight toward the main courtyard.
