Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 241

Caspian nodded in satisfaction. "That's the spirit." He slid a formal visiting card across the table.

Alaric glanced at his grandfather, took the card, and froze when he saw the signature. "Adrian Markell? Isn't he..."

Caspian smiled cryptically.

Historically, an incoming president would always find an excuse to dine at Obsidian Estate within their first week in office. There was always a complex web of checks and balances between the government and the financial titans pulling the strings. But Adrian Markell had been in office for a month, aggressively purging old bureaucrats, and hadn't so much as made a phone call, let alone paid a visit.

Adrian wasn't a puppet installed by the tycoons. In fact, his election had been a complete miscalculation by the wealthy elite, a glitch in the capitalist system. His deliberate distance from top-tier families like the Ravenshires was exactly what his voting base wanted to see.

Because his intentions were unclear, the Ravenshires hadn't extended an invitation to him for this banquet. To their surprise, Adrian had proactively sent a formal request to attend.

This wasn't going to be a simple social call.

Caspian observed Alaric. "Why the serious face?"

Alaric stared at the card in his hand.

Ever since Sebastian Ravenshire passed away, the family had maintained a low profile. Throwing such a lavish, highly publicized event was a clear message to anyone eyeing the family's empire: the Ravenshires had a strong successor.

On that night, Alaric would step into the public eye to be scrutinized and judged by the entire elite circle. From then on, his every word and action would represent the family. This was Caspian's unique way of showing favoritism, paving the ultimate path for him.

The young man looked up, the usual indifference in his eyes replaced by fierce determination. "Don't worry, Grandpa. I will perform flawlessly that night."

A deeply satisfied smile touched Caspian's lips. "Good."

Later that evening, Talia Ravenshire arrived home and was immediately informed of the physical altercation between Vivienne, Bianca, and Victoria in the parlor. Without missing a beat, she grabbed both girls and marched them straight over to "apologize."

Victoria gestured for Talia to sit, her eyes sweeping critically over Vivienne and Bianca before settling back on Talia.

"I assume you're here because you heard about the incident in the parlor today?"

Talia nodded, placing the two velvet boxes on the coffee table.

"We're family, Victoria, so I won't beat around the bush. These two were definitely out of line today. No matter what happened, they shouldn't have raised a hand against an elder. I brought them here to apologize, and I hope you can overlook their childish behavior for the sake of our family ties."

Victoria's gaze flicked to Vivienne. "You said 'these two'?"

Talia smiled warmly. "Exactly. I forgot to mention it, but I've officially taken Vivienne in as my daughter. From now on, she's my flesh and blood, just like Bianca. Anyone who gives her trouble is giving me trouble."
