Everyone in the room was shrewd. They easily spotted exactly who had prompted Bianca to back down. Eyes naturally drifted toward Vivienne.

Caspian, however, looked pleased. His thumb slid over the sandalwood beads on his cane, his expression amiable. "Kids, Obsidian Estate is going to be incredibly lively today. Have fun, make some noise, but remember one thing: keep yourselves in check."

"Yes," the younger generation replied in unison.

Caspian nodded, then looked toward Dorian and the other adults. "We have a lot of guests today. Help each other out and make sure our VIPs are well attended to."

"Yes."

"Alright, as long as you know what to do. It's rare for all of you siblings to gather like this. Relax."

Taking the cue, Dorian smiled at Alaric. "Alaric, our last meeting was so rushed I didn't have time to prepare anything. I've brought a small gift for you this time to welcome you home."

Victoria smiled as she offered a beautifully wrapped box.

"Thank you, Uncle Dorian, Aunt Victoria." Alaric stood up and glanced back at Wesley, who immediately stepped forward to receive the gift.

Dorian smiled and nodded, his gaze briefly sweeping over Wesley. Aside from Cedric and Wesley, all other bodyguards and managers had been relegated to standing outside the main hall. The old man really wasn't hiding his favoritism toward Alaric at all.

With Dorian setting the pace, the rest of the family eagerly began presenting their gifts.

In mere moments, Wesley's arms were overloaded with boxes.

Bianca pulled out an exquisitely wrapped box from God-knows-where and whispered to Vivienne, "Did you get a present?"

Vivienne nodded. "Just a little token of appreciation."

A token of appreciation? What was that supposed to mean?

Once the elders finished showering him with gifts and pleasantries, they followed Caspian to the tearoom.

The Ravenshire family placed heavy emphasis on etiquette, so Cyril and Julian had prepared gifts as well.

Cyril played it safe with a custom-engraved fountain pen. The most ostentatious gift came from Julian, who casually handed over the keys to a limited-edition motorcycle.
