Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 257

Bianca Whitmore's head was spinning. What on earth was going on? Hadn't they just been in an argument? When did it get so complicated?

Vivienne Lexton's lips twitched into a smirk. "Oh, so you knew all along?"

Aurelia Ravenshire stood frozen, a look of pure disbelief on her face. "How could you say something like that? I've never had any ill intentions toward you. Why would you deliberately use me? And Grandpa... he trusted you so much, yet you exploited his trust."

Vivienne couldn't be bothered to argue with her. Looking entirely unfazed, she asked, "Are you done?"

Aurelia stared at Vivienne in disbelief. How could a person be so utterly wicked?

"Since I'm so wicked," Vivienne retorted, "why don't you go report me?"

Aurelia's lips trembled with anger. "You're just certain I won't. You're bullying me because I'm too kind-hearted."

A dark gleam flashed in Vivienne's eyes. "Too... kind-hearted? So you actually know what your problem is?"

Aurelia froze.

Vivienne stared directly into her eyes, as if piercing straight through to her soul. "I always thought you were clueless, but it turns out you know exactly what you're doing, don't you?"

"What are you talking about? I don't understand," Aurelia deflected, guiltily turning her face away.

The intrigue in Vivienne's eyes deepened as she glanced up at the tags hovering above Aurelia's head.

She had just realized something crucial. Aurelia had five tags: Hopeless Romantic, Savior Complex, Intelligent, Decisive, and Filial. Unlike Bianca's gradually escalating traits, Aurelia's last four tags were exactly the same size. This meant that her intelligence, decisiveness, and devotion to her family influenced her just as strongly as her savior complex.

Smart, decisive people always saw right to the core of any issue. Perhaps Aurelia wasn't oblivious to her 'savior' tendencies at all; maybe she deliberately framed that behavior as kindness.

If this was a calculated choice on her part, Aurelia was absolutely terrifying. It completely shattered everything Vivienne thought she knew about her.

People often made mistakes when they didn't know any better. That kind of error was relatively easy to fix—you just had to make them realize they were doing something wrong.

But there was one type of mistake that could never be corrected: doing something wrong on purpose. Aurelia fell into the latter category.

It was the difference between involuntary manslaughter and premeditated murder.

Vivienne slowly closed the distance between them, her gaze sharp as a blade. "Do you really harbor no hostility toward me?"
