"Miss Lara," Marissa quickly stepped between them, terrified these little tyrants were about to start a war.
"Get out of the way! Stop blocking me!" Lara shoved Marissa aside, crossed her arms, and glared down at Vivienne haughtily.
"Alaric just agreed to my proposal. Tonight, the girl crowned as the 'princess' gets a special privilege. Whoever she chooses must fulfill every single demand she makes for the rest of the evening."
"Huh?" Vivienne opened her eyes in sheer disbelief. "Is Alaric out of his mind? Why would he agree to play such a brain-dead game?"
"What did you just say?" Lara froze, then flushed with rage. "It's one thing for you to insult me, but you dare insult Alaric? Aren't you afraid I'll tell him?"
"Heh." Vivienne just gave her a massive eye roll, leaving the idiot to figure it out for herself.
Suppressing her fury, Lara sneered mockingly. "Don't tell me you're scared?"
Vivienne shook her head. "Not scared. I'm just worried about how embarrassing this is going to be for you. Have you ever read a fairy tale? The truly beautiful princesses never ask the magic mirror who the fairest of them all is. Only ugly witches need constant validation to feel secure."
Bianca rubbed her chin and gave a thumbs up. "Words of wisdom. That needs to be framed and hung on the school's quote wall."
"Are you calling me a witch? Are you calling me ugly?"
Lara couldn't stand being called ugly. Vivienne was tap-dancing right on her absolute bottom line.
"Hey~ What are you guys talking about?"
Right at that moment, Sienna walked into Vellmont Lodge with a bright smile. She gazed around in absolute awe at the lush, blooming courtyard that looked like something straight out of the Wizard of Oz.
"It's even more gorgeous up close."
The sudden arrival of an uninvited outsider instantly drew everyone's attention.
