Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 317

"Father Graham, Father Hemlock, right this way."

Principal Holloway smiled ingratiatingly as he led the two men in clerical vestments, followed by a trailing entourage of school administrators.

The two priests, men of average build with kindly faces, occasionally exchanged pleasantries with him. Press photographers bumped into one another, jockeying for the best angles with their massive camera lenses.

The grand procession moved through the corridor and stepped into The Central Garden.

Holloway pointed proudly at the glowing boards suspended in the air. "Please, take a look. This is our century-old tradition. Just as ancient scholars scaled the dragon gate, our Crimson Roll molds the pillars of society."

Following his gesture, the priests and the sea of camera lenses instinctively turned toward the boards.

Brimming with pride, Holloway continued, "Our academy has spent a century building its national reputation. We understand the vital importance of educational equity. Here, we treat every brilliant mind fairly. We stay true to our roots, striving to forge the ultimate rising stars for our nation's future!"

Applause erupted.

Suddenly, someone raised a hand. "Principal Holloway, why are the freshman boards hung upside down?"

Upside down? Holloway froze, squinting at the display. They really were backwards.

It wasn't a total disaster. He kept his composure, smoothly pivoting. "Ah, a minor operational oversight. My apologies. But please, look over here! Through rigorous curriculum optimization and experimental reforms, our faculty has developed a teaching model that far surpasses traditional standards. This is the true culmination of our efforts."

"Wow! Near-perfect scores!"

The media's attention was instantly captured by the dazzling results of the Advanced Studies Class. Cameras flashed wildly as reporters scribbled notes.

Holloway breathed a quiet sigh of relief. He grabbed his assistant's sleeve, maintaining a fixed smile. "Find out who hung the freshman boards today. Give them a severe demerit."

"Yes, sir."

"And another thing," Holloway said, keeping up his dignified facade. "Tell the media to cut the part about the mistake. Do not let that air."

His assistant nodded silently.

Once the reporters finished gathering their footage, one of them raised a hand. "Principal, could we get a brief interview with the valedictorian of the Advanced Studies Class?"

Holloway glanced at the top name on the board, his smile unwavering. "I don't believe that was on the schedule for today, was it?"

"No, but we think a student interview would make the coverage feel much more compelling and complete. Naturally, it would also be wonderful PR for the school's monumental contributions to national education."

"I see your point," Holloway nodded graciously. "Give me just a moment to arrange it." He shot his assistant a meaningful look.

While the reporters organized their equipment, the principal gave the priests a detailed tour of the boards. The church funnelled a massive amount of educational funding into the school every year, so this dog-and-pony show was essentially a progress report for his top sponsors.

Father Hemlock nodded approvingly. "Impressive. Truly leaps and bounds ahead of other academic institutions. On behalf of the millions of followers in our church, I extend my deepest respect to your faculty."

Holloway waved his hand humbly. "You flatter us."

The assistant slipped through the crowd and caught Holloway's eye. Holloway immediately summoned the vice principal to take over the tour, pulling his assistant aside into a quiet corner.

"What did Alaric say?"
