Cyril watched the tiny terror hurtling toward him like a heat-seeking missile, his eye twitching.
She had a terrifying thirst for revenge. She really didn't pull her punches. So, faced with the choice of being murdered or resisting, he let her tackle him.
When Vivienne shoved the pillow over his face, he simply turned his head slightly to make sure he could breathe, completely abandoning any resistance.
Over the past three years, he had completely figured out Vivienne's temperament. She acted like a feral, untamable cat, but as long as you stroked her fur the right way, she'd be purring in no time.
In other words, she responded to softness, not force.
"What are you two doing?"
Vivienne was so consumed by her quest for vengeance that she didn't even notice the car door being pulled open.
Inside the car, the girl was straddling the boy like a vicious wolf. While the tangled scene carried a faint undertone of intimacy, Julian's face darkened. He reached in, grabbed Vivienne, and hauled her out.
"Get out."
Freed from the crushing weight, Cyril slowly sat up. Because of the excessive tugging, a button had popped off his collar. He panted softly, casting a dark, unreadable gaze at Julian.
Julian felt his blood boil just looking at Cyril in that state. He whirled on Vivienne. "Were you two fighting just now?"
Vivienne looked down to straighten her rumpled clothes, catching her breath before glaring at Cyril. "We weren't fighting."
Only then did she realize they had arrived at the gates of Obsidian Estate. Vivienne reacted quickly, swinging the pillow in her hand to smack Julian squarely in the face.
"Unbelievable! You two are in on this together! I misjudged you!" After smacking him, she huffed and ran into the estate.
The pillow strike didn't hurt, but it caught him completely off guard. Julian stared at Vivienne's retreating figure, his face full of suspicion.
