Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 375

Victoria forced an awkward smile. "My apologies, this is our niece. Vivi, this is Goldbay's governor. Say hello to Ms. Yates."

Hearing she was from the Ravenshire family, Eleanor's eyes softened with genuine interest.

Vivienne frowned, assessing Eleanor with a critical eye. "So she's just a governor? You were fawning over her so hard, I thought she was some huge big shot."

Eleanor froze.

"!"

She was going crazy again!

Victoria's smile nearly snapped in half. She let out a hollow laugh to cover the awkwardness. "Please excuse her, Governor. Kids say the most ridiculous things."

"Oh, so you do realize we're kids?" Vivienne shot back. "Cyril won't turn eighteen for another three months. Legally, he's a minor. Yet you're forcing him to drink with adults?"

Both Victoria and Eleanor's eyelids twitched.

Cyril slowly lowered his gaze, keeping his eyes locked on his orange juice.

"What do you mean, forcing him?" Victoria snapped. "I merely asked Cyril to come over and say hello."

"Oh." Vivienne nodded, casually offering the wine glass to Eleanor. "If it's just saying hello, what kind of rule dictates the adult drinks water while the minor drinks wine?"

Eleanor stared at the wine, the smile fading from her eyes. "Mrs. Ravenshire, the children in your family certainly have a unique sense of humor."

"What's wrong? Is the governor looking down on a toast from the younger generation? I guess I'll just have to ask Grandpa to come down here himself."

"Goldbay has no major industries and no historical infrastructure," Vivienne declared smoothly. "Even today, its education sector is one of the poorest in Athelvia. Kids here still rely on charity from outsiders just to afford school. So tell me—is that because the people of Goldbay aren't working hard enough? Or is it because all of you sitting here are incompetent?"

Eleanor paled. Vivienne wasn't just throwing a tantrum; she was escalating the situation into a vicious political critique. At that moment, Eleanor finally understood how terrifying the heirs of major conglomerates could be.

And it wasn't just her. The rest of the Goldbay officials seated behind her shifted uncomfortably.

Vivienne swirled the wine glass again, her smile cooling. "Well then. Looks like there's no toast."

After her engagement to Alaric, she had learned exactly what it meant to be a Ravenshire matriarch under Caspian's guidance. In her past life, she had failed to protect the family's dignity. In this life, as Caspian's granddaughter, she would defend it to the death.

She tipped the crystal glass, and the remaining red wine cascaded out.
