Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 399

Deep within the boundless abyss of her Narrative Realm.

Vivienne sat cross-legged, resting her chin in her hand, having a staring contest with the Gate of Narrative.

A line of golden, elegant cursive had appeared on the mottled hardcover: The Villainess's Accidental Romance. The green vines wrapped around the cover had spread out like seaweed, sprouting countless new little buds along their branches.

Is it budding?

If this were a rosebush, budding would mean the root system was strong and the nutrients were balanced.

But what did it mean for a book to bud?

Vivienne waved a hand, and the pages slowly fluttered open.

The previously blank page now boldly displayed the word Index.

But it was a maddening index. It only listed chapter numbers, followed by asterisks where the titles should be.

The very last entry read: Chapter 222: ****** (Currently Updating).

She had spent half the day scrutinizing the index, but she still couldn't make heads or tails of it. One thing, however, was absolutely clear: this was still a book, it was updating in real-time, and she had somehow become the female lead.

Vivienne stroked her chin. I still don't get it. Why does it suddenly have a title? And an index?

Did this mean if the book kept developing, there would be an actual storyline?

And what exactly triggered the book to update?

She thought back over her recent actions.

She had formed a new understanding, realizing she wasn't in A Saga of Power and Passion.

And... she had teamed up with Cyril to kill Balthazar.

But what was the common denominator?

"Argh!" Vivienne groaned, rubbing her face vigorously.

"Why? Why couldn't I be given a brain that matches my stunning looks? If only I could borrow Cyril's brain for a bit."

Meanwhile, a massive crowd had gathered around the five-foot-wide hospital bed.

"What did she just say?"

According to the doctor's estimate, Vivienne should have woken up in the afternoon. It had now been over four hours past the expected time. Even Talia Ravenshire and Bianca Whitmore had arrived, yet Vivienne remained fast asleep.

Caspian was practically climbing the walls with anxiety. He had pulled a chair right up to the bed. Talia and Bianca flanked the other side. With no room left, Alaric and Julian were relegated to the sofa, messing with their phones.

The doctor had rushed in and out seven or eight times, looking terrified each time. Finally, just moments ago, the girl in the bed stirred, murmuring something under her breath.

Caspian instantly stood up and leaned in close.

Julian reacted faster than Alaric, shooting off the sofa and darting to the bed. "Vivi?"

Talia studied Vivienne's face intently before sighing. "It sounds like she's sleep-talking."

Cyril tilted his head slightly, holding Julian's stare without a word.

Julian straightened up, his rebellious features taking on a careless smirk. "Just nonsense. Can't make it out."

"If you can't hear anything, why are you standing there like a post?" Caspian shoved Julian out of the way and reclaimed the center spot. "Sigh. Why isn't she waking up?"

Bianca looked worried. "Grandpa, do you think Dr. Cole messed up the medication dosage?"

Caspian considered this. "Cedric, get everything ready. We're heading back to Stormhollow."

The medical facilities in Goldbay District couldn't compare to Stormhollow's, and he wasn't going to risk any delays in her treatment.

As he spoke, Vivienne's eyelids fluttered.

"Vivienne?" Talia was overjoyed, leaning down to stroke her cheek. "Vivienne?"

Vivienne slowly opened her eyes to see a sea of floating heads.

Bianca almost cried with relief. "She's awake! She's finally awake!"

Cyril pushed his wheelchair forward, slowly moving to the foot of the bed.

Tears welled up in Caspian's eyes. "Vivi, you're finally awake. Are you hungry? Tell Grandpa what you want to eat."

Vivienne blinked. "Cyril's brain."

Cyril: "..."
