Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 40

The Ravenshire family had a deep foundation. Losing a senior congressional position just meant spending a few more years to regain it. But if they were subjected to someone else's control, they would forever be at a disadvantage.

In the political arena, one misstep could cause even a great family to be crushed to dust. Caspian, shouldering the responsibility for his family's prosperity, couldn't afford to be careless in the slightest.

Even after talking sense into Dorian, he still couldn't sleep. He felt there was something he hadn't quite figured out. It wasn't until today in the side hall, when he saw Vivienne and Bianca fighting, that his muddled thoughts suddenly became clear.

The Whitmore family!

It had been almost a week since Talia brought Bianca back to Obsidian Estate, but there had been no word from the Whitmore family. That was completely unreasonable.

Caspian suddenly realized something. Athelvia's economy had developed too rapidly in recent years, elevating many wealthy families. Meanwhile, the Ravenshire family had kept a low profile ever since losing Sebastian. The old patriarch had been quiet for too long, and the younger generation was growing restless under his shadow.

So, someone was already getting restless...

"Grandpa..."

A clear, pleasant voice interrupted Caspian's thoughts. The scattered chrysanthemum petals in his cup came into focus. As he looked up, he saw a girl with her hair in a bun running toward him.

A warmth spread through Caspian's heart, and he quickly stood up to meet her. "Slow down! Slow down!"

Vivienne was clutching a ridiculous, oversized gray wolf plushie, a splash of childhood innocence in the middle of a tactical war room. "Grandpa, are you still angry?"

Caspian wasn't truly angry. The Ravenshire family was about to launch a counterattack, and if he discovered the Whitmore family was truly involved, he wouldn't show any mercy. But Bianca was still young. To spare her feelings, Caspian had used the fight as a pretext to send her away to the old estate in Alderwick for a while.

As for Vivienne, he had his own private reasons. Serena was an unreliable mother. If one day he was no longer around, Vivienne would inevitably be mistreated. That was why he wanted to place Vivienne and Bianca together.

The affection in his voice warmed Vivienne's heart.

"Grandpa." She coaxed, handing the big, goofy wolf to Caspian. "This is for you. When I'm not at Obsidian Estate, he can keep you company."

Caspian looked at the ugly-cute plush toy the girl offered him, his mood lifting immensely. "You just came to give Grandpa a farewell gift?"

Vivienne nodded.

Suddenly, Caspian felt a pang of reluctance. He took the toy and stroked her head. "Vivienne, will you resent Grandpa for being so harsh?"

Vivienne shook her head. Although she was sad to be leaving so soon after they had just met, she knew her grandfather had his reasons for every decision he made. As his granddaughter, all she needed to do was trust him.
