"*Pfft!*" Vivienne nearly spit out her water. "Talia has that kind of pull?"
Bianca handed her a napkin, her tone edged with complaint. "As long as you know. The next time you plan something, could you give me a heads-up? If something like this happens again, I'm actually going to die of shock."
Vivienne looked a bit guilty. "Got it. No more surprises."
Bianca wasn't actually mad at her. She eyed Vivienne from head to toe. "I heard that Balthazar was a complete psycho. Did you get hurt at all?"

She took another sip of water. "By the way! With the Ravenshire family's power, there's no reason it should have taken them so long to track us down. Do you know what happened behind the scenes?"
Bianca nodded, quickly summarizing how the family tracked the ship and their intense standoff with the Beaufort family.
"Vivi, what's wrong? Is there a problem?"
In her previous life, those raiders had stormed the Whitmore estate and slaughtered everyone inside. Tessa had been hacked to pieces trying to protect Bianca.
Vivienne thought for a moment before deciding to give Bianca a subtle warning. "Do you remember the prophecies I gave you back then?"
Bianca's face instantly paled.
She remembered.
Her mother murdered. Tessa slaughtered. And her falling for the wrong man, losing her heart and her dignity in the process.
