The next day brought bright sunshine and clear skies—a beautiful morning.

The heavy doors of the three courtyards opened at almost the exact same time. The three young men exchanged a brief, silent glance before wordlessly heading toward The Colonnade.

To get his three grandsons into shape as quickly as possible, Caspian had ordered a new plot of land cleared behind Obsidian Estate. He built The Wellness Pavilion, which housed three secret, specialized rooms. Aside from the boys assigned to them, no one else was allowed inside.

The Pavilion was structured like a traditional courtyard house, centered around a half-acre garden. In the four corners of the garden sat large bronze Qilin vats, placed to catch rain dripping from the eaves.

A pot of tea was set out in the garden. Caspian, dressed in casual clothes, was practicing Tai Chi near the trellises while Cedric stood respectfully to the side.

The three boys paused under the portico. "Grandpa."

Caspian brought his hands together in a smooth, circular motion, finishing his routine. He took the towel Cedric offered, smiled, and waved the boys over. "Well, you all look energetic. Seems everyone got a good night's sleep. That puts my mind at ease."

At ease?

The three of them caught the keyword instantly, their expressions shifting as they stared at him.

Caspian laughed at how on edge they were. He picked up his teacup, took a sip, and smiled. "Don't be so tense. You're my own grandsons. Do you think I'd actually hurt you?"

Right on cue, Dr. Cole led a team of researchers into the courtyard. Each of them was carrying a heavy metal briefcase.

Caspian gestured. "Come sit down. Dr. Cole, walk them through the procedure."

Procedure?

Alaric's face remained blank as he took a seat first. Cyril swept a gentle, unbothered gaze over the researchers. Only Julian looked visibly furious, practically ready to turn around and storm out.

Once the other two were seated, Dr. Cole opened his medical case and pulled out a vial of glowing blue liquid.

"Mr. Ravenshire, young masters, this is the latest development from our lab: The Euphoria Compound. Injecting just one milliliter into your system will completely override your self-control, plunging your body into a state of absolute, primal desire."
