In that split second, all his prior resistance and struggles turned into an absolute joke.
He reached up, gently caressing her cheek. “Come here.”
Just as Julian had once bragged—with any other face, he could have gone three hundred rounds. But there was a second half to that boast: if it was her face, eight hundred rounds would literally be the death of him.
He was doomed!
Julian bolted upright in sheer panic.
No!
He could be a twisted killer, a deranged lunatic, or even a total psycho, but he absolutely could not be a perverted sex maniac, or else Vivienne would be in danger!
Clutching his splitting head, Julian looked around frantically. Surely no one else knew how disgusting he was, right?
This was a complete disaster!
If The Two Stooges next door found out this was how he won, they would definitely tell Grandpa and have him kicked out of the Ravenshire family.
He could already picture the scene perfectly.
Alaric, his face full of disgust: “You're a disgrace to the family. I told you a degenerate like you could never lead the Ravenshires.”
Cyril, looking utterly sanctimonious: “You truly are worthless.”
Grandpa, heartbroken: “Julian, you've disappointed me so much.”
And Vivienne...
“Julian, you're so gross!”
“Ahhhhhhh!!!!”
The imaginary scene shattered into a million pieces, plunging him into an abyss of despair.
“Knock, knock, knock—”
Just then, a frantic, urgent knocking sounded at the door.
Julian violently flinched, waking from his spiraling thoughts in a cold sweat.
Bang! The door slammed shut right in his face.
“You little brat!”
He had rushed over here without even eating dinner, and this was the attitude the punk gave him?
Furious, Leander raised the bowl, ready to smash it against the door, but forced himself to suppress his rage mid-swing.
It wasn't like he hadn't lost his temper before, but Julian always retaliated ten times harder, once even running away from home for three months. When they finally managed to coax him back, he had slapped a severance of paternity agreement down for Leander to sign on the very same day. If the old man hadn't intervened to mediate, Leander would have practically ended his own bloodline.
Recalling this, Leander's mouth twitched. Tilting his head back, he chugged the entire bowl of Sea Cucumber Congee himself.
He hadn't eaten dinner yet anyway, so it was a good way to line his stomach.
Back in his room, Julian's arrogant, untouchable demeanor completely crumbled.
“Damn it! This is becoming a massive problem.”
