Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 59

"Ptooey, ptooey!" Bianca spat out a mouthful of mud. "Cyril, did you do that on purpose?"

Cyril's tone was gentle. "No. Just a coincidence."

Bianca turned angrily to Vivienne. "Say something! You saw what he did! He bullied me!"

Vivienne looked at Bianca's mud-caked, black-toothed grin and was at a loss for words.

A few minutes later, the three of them appeared before Caspian with a seven-pound, mud-covered lobster. Caspian roared with laughter and sat up from his chair. "Oh, so you found the treasure I prepared for you! Did you have fun?"

Bianca, looking like a little mud eel, wriggled toward Caspian. "Grandpa, I found it first!"

Caspian's eyes twitched. He tried to stop her, but it was too late. His white t-shirt was now covered in Bianca's muddy handprints.

Bianca put on a mournful face and pointed at Cyril to complain, "Grandpa, he bullied me! Look at my face, he did this! Ask Vivienne if you don't believe me."

Vivienne nodded in agreement. "That's right, Grandpa. He's not a good person."

Cyril raised an eyebrow, discreetly studying Vivienne. Bianca was from the third branch of the family, so it was natural for her to dislike him. But what was this girl's reason?

Caspian, of course, didn't take such childish words to heart. To placate Bianca and Vivienne, he shot a mock glare at Cyril. "Cyril, both of your sisters have turned into little mud eels. It's your fault for not looking after them properly. As punishment, you'll be in charge of our dinner tonight. This lobster is all yours."

The punishment was so mild it was barely a step above just letting him off.

Cyril nodded in acceptance.

"Grandpa..."

"The best way to get two people who dislike each other to set aside their differences and form an alliance is to give them a common enemy."

Cyril turned his head, looking at the two short, muddy figures walking side by side in the distance, a gentle smile in his eyes. "It seems your plan was a success, Grandpa."

At that moment, 'satisfied' was an understatement for how much Caspian liked Cyril. He knew Cyril was intelligent, so he wasn't surprised that the boy could see through his plan. What he appreciated was Cyril's frankness and gentleness.

Anyone would feel uncomfortable being used as a common enemy, but Cyril not only went along with the plan but also acted with understanding and grace.

Caspian laughed heartily and clapped him firmly on the shoulder several times. "Good! Very good! Excellent!"

When Vivienne and Bianca came out in clean clothes, they saw their grandfather and Cyril standing by the grill, talking and laughing. Cyril must have said something, because the old man suddenly picked up the fishing rod from beside his chair and started demonstrating how to cast.
