Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 67

Compared to the other young masters of Obsidian Estate, this Mr. Cyril was practically a saint. He was handsome and had a good personality. No wonder even someone as discerning as the old master liked him.

"Oh, I'm exhausted." Vivienne rubbed her arms, feeling like she didn't even have the strength to lift her feet. "Cedric, are you sure we've rounded up every cat and dog within a ten-mile radius?"

Cedric was speechless.

He wasn't sure.

Cedric felt like he'd seen it all now.

He had been dragged out of bed at the crack of dawn by Vivienne to feed stray cats and dogs. He initially thought Miss Lexton was just having a temporary burst of compassion, but he hadn't expected her to be so absolutely insane. She had people capture all the stray cats and dogs and bring them to her, then interrogated them one by one, "Are you the Little Stray?"

How were the cats and dogs supposed to answer?

When she didn't get an answer, she had the bodyguards follow the animals back to their haunts and bring back their friends, questioning each one with a mix of threats and promises, "Are you the Little Stray?"

It was no exaggeration to say that word had now spread throughout the entire stray cat and dog community at the foot of the mountain: a gullible human with lots of food was looking for a 'Little Stray'. They didn't even need to be caught anymore; the animals were showing up in droves to try their luck.

If they hadn't run away quickly, they would have been surrounded by an army of cats and dogs.

With a tuft of dog hair still stuck on his head, Cedric panted, "Miss Lexton, what does this 'Little Stray' you're looking for even look like? Why don't you just tell me, and I'll have my men find it?"

Vivienne waved her hand weakly. If only she knew, things would be much simpler.

Caspian, who was just explaining to Cyril how to prune leaves, couldn't help but smile when he heard their conversation. He immediately put down his shears and teased Vivienne, "Where did you drag Cedric off to so early in the morning? He's been with me for forty years, and he never looked this frazzled, not even during the Merriton City war."

Only then did Vivienne and Cedric notice Caspian and Cyril were also in the garden hall.

Cedric quickly composed himself. "Old Master."

"Grandpa!" Vivienne's eyes curved into crescents as she bounced over and threw herself toward Caspian.

Caspian glanced at Cyril, then tapped her forehead and gestured with his chin.

Vivienne's smile vanished. She looked at Cyril with a deadpan expression. "Well, hello, Cyril."

Cyril was rendered speechless.

Caspian was both annoyed and amused. "What did you promise Grandpa yesterday?"

Vivienne immediately plastered on a practiced, professional smile. "Cyril."

Vivienne advanced on him, step by step.

Cyril frowned, leaning back warily.

Vivienne braced one hand on the flower rack. If she weren't so short and young, the move could have been considered harassment.

"Little..."

Just then, a small turtle crawled out of the fish bowl on the rack and, by sheer coincidence, fell onto the back of Cyril's hand.

Vivienne paused, looking from the turtle to Cyril, then back to the turtle again. Finally, she closed her eyes, squeezed herself into Cyril's arms, quickly scooped up the small turtle, and silently commanded in her mind.

"Bind."

In that moment, her heart pounded in her chest.

After what felt like an eternity, she finally heard the voice of salvation.

[Congratulations, binding successful.]
