What are you looking at? You're getting insulted and you don't even know how to fight back. Coward.
Cyril smiled. He turned his head to look at Preston. "The entire squad across from me, a thousand push-ups. Now."
"..." The careless smile on Preston's face vanished instantly. His eyes narrowed, turning razor-sharp as he stared Cyril down.
At The Academy of Military & Governance, a superior officer's command was absolute. Due to their failure on the final exam, Preston's entire squad had their vacation privileges revoked and were still in their disciplinary period.
During this period, they had to obey their commanding officers unconditionally. Defying orders meant facing immediate expulsion.
Kael shot Preston a look. "Screw your—"
"Kael."
Preston grabbed him and yanked him back. He shot a heavy glance at Vivienne, then looked down and tucked his black shirt into his waistband. After a tense silence, he humiliated himself, dropping to the ground in a plank position.
"Preston..."
Kael was grinding his teeth in rage, but since Preston had yielded, he had no choice but to swallow his pride. The other academy students, sensing the danger, had already dropped to the floor.
For a moment, the scene was bizarrely surreal.
Beneath the covered bridge, a row of bodies bobbed up and down in unison.
Alaric looked entirely unimpressed. He turned to the dumbfounded hotel manager. "Where are our rooms?"
The manager finally snapped out of his shock, his smile growing even more obsequious. "Right this way, please."
"Wait..." Jade still wanted to ask about the race, but watching the row of guys doing pushups instantly killed the thought.
What race? If Cyril gave a single order, they'd have to turn around and the competition would be over before it started.
Once the Ravenshires walked away, the rest of the crowd didn't dare stick around. They scattered from the danger zone as fast as they could.
Cyril had the nerve to make Preston do a thousand pushups in public, but no one there was brave enough to stay and watch the fallout.
