Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 72

Vivienne slept soundly and woke up the next day feeling refreshed. After breakfast, she took Little Stray to wander around the garden.

Thanks to its new owner's affection, the little turtle was living the high life, wearing a custom-made pink ruffled dress from Marissa as it sunbathed by the pond.

As soon as Cyril entered Northwing Court, he saw a girl and a turtle sitting on a rocking chair in the sunroom, swaying back and forth. They looked more relaxed than retired old men in a park.

Vivienne asked, “Little Stray, is the sun too much? Should I get you an umbrella?”

The turtle stretched its neck.

Vivienne immediately pulled a tube of sunscreen from her tote bag. “The morning sun is strong. How about I put some on you?”

Cyril was speechless.

The turtle shook its head and retracted its four legs and head into its shell. Without a second thought, Vivienne squeezed out a pea-sized amount, warmed it in her palm, and carefully applied it to the turtle's shell.

“There, now you won’t get sunburned. It’s another day full of love. Little Stray, can you feel my overflowing love?”

For some reason, Cyril felt a sudden chill run down his spine.

The old man came out from the inner courtyard after breakfast. Seeing Cyril standing in the sunroom holding a rose bush, he waved him over. “Cyril, you’re here so early?”

Vivienne looked up, her gaze meeting Cyril’s. Before she could react, Cyril calmly looked away, the corners of his eyes curving up in a warm, gentle expression.

“Grandpa.”

Vivienne pouted, completely unconcerned, and squeezed out another pump of sunscreen to apply to her own face.

Caspian walked into the sunroom from the corridor, his eyes darting between the two. He saw everything but said nothing, instead pointing to the plant in Cyril’s arms with a kind smile. “Here to get some gardening tips from your grandpa?”

Cyril nodded, slightly embarrassed. “Grandpa, I hope I’m not disturbing you.”

“Hey!”

Caspian said, “Perfect. Since you know so much, you can teach Cyril. I’ll watch from the side.”

He figured he could let the two grandkids cultivate their relationship while they were still young.

Vivienne’s mouth twitched. She wanted to slap herself. Teach Cyril about gardening? Did she have nothing better to do?

Cyril smirked. Did this girl have no control over her expressions? Her eyes were about to roll into the back of her head.

He’d never been looked at with such disdain in his entire life. Cyril wasn’t one to force himself on someone who wasn’t interested. He turned to Caspian, his expression gentle. “Grandpa, let’s not trouble her. I…”

The old man shot a helpless glare at Vivienne and quickly interjected, “Then I’ll teach you…”

Suddenly, a thought struck Vivienne. This was all wrong! Cyril was clearly using gardening as an excuse to cozy up to Grandpa. She couldn’t let him succeed.

Having figured it out, she clutched the seedling tightly and put on a reluctant air. “Fine, I’ll teach him.”
