The Whitmores sent someone?

Vivienne’s eyes flickered as she looked from Cedric to Caspian.

Cyril also looked slightly surprised.

Caspian, however, remained composed. “Be clear. Who is hitting whom?”

Cedric replied, “It’s Ms. Talia hitting her husband. If the butler hadn’t been watching, he’d probably be on the ground by now.”

Caspian’s expression didn’t change. The old fool from the Whitmore family had sent his son over today to be Talia’s punching bag. How could their little drama to gain sympathy work if there wasn’t any blood?

Cedric couldn’t read Caspian’s mind and asked with some difficulty, “Sir, how should we handle this?”

Caspian asked, “Where’s Bianca?”

Cedric replied, “Tessa took Miss Bianca out, but the commotion is so loud, I’m afraid we can’t hide it from her for long.”

At this, Caspian finally showed some anger. “Those damn fools. They don’t even think about the child when they act up.”

After his outburst, he suppressed his anger and turned to Vivienne and Cyril. “Grandpa has to go out for a bit. Cyril, if you have any questions, ask Vivienne. And let me be clear, no fighting.”

For once, the two were in perfect sync, replying in unison, “Got it.”

Caspian patted Vivienne’s head, and the moment he turned away, his face darkened.

Cyril watched Caspian’s retreating back, lost in thought.

“Grandpa’s gone. You can stop putting on an act. Take your little plant and go back where you came from.”

Cyril paused and turned to look at Vivienne. “Grandpa said we should continue.”

Vivienne scoffed. “Who wants to continue with you? Stop pretending. I’m not falling for your act.”

Cyril smiled, picked up the ceramic pot from the stand, and as he passed the pond, he flicked his finger, flipping the sunbathing turtle over.

The little turtle lay on its back, about to struggle, when Cyril tapped its belly and spun it with a flick of his wrist. Little Stray became a tiny spinning top.

Vivienne was in shock. Cyril never did anything that could be used against him, yet now he was brazenly bullying her turtle right in front of her?!

But the most infuriating part was that she was so stunned, by the time she snapped out of it, the jerk was already gone.

“That scoundrel Cyril, picking on a defenseless turtle. He’s absolute scum.”

Vivienne cradled Little Stray with a pained expression, whispering comforting words. “I let my guard down this time. Are you scared? Don’t worry, dear. When Grandpa gets back, I’ll definitely get even for you.”

Caspian had just been speaking from the heart.

Parents usually argue away from their children, but just now at Echostone House, Damien had deliberately kneeled and begged for forgiveness in front of Bianca, putting on a show of humiliation and submission. He had even forced Bianca to choose between staying with the Ravenshires or returning to the Whitmores.

The Whitmores were only scheming against the Ravenshires; they had little genuine affection for Bianca. Furious that Damien could be so cruel as to use their child, Talia had ordered the guards at Echostone House to beat him and throw him out. If Caspian hadn’t arrived in time, there’s no telling how chaotic it would have become.

On the way back, Caspian kept thinking that perhaps his attempt to keep the peace was a mistake. If he truly wanted what was best for Bianca, he should have forcibly kept her with the Ravenshires.

The Whitmores pretended to treat her well, but they were spoiling her rotten, and it would ruin her character.

Caspian hadn't expected a child to understand his intentions, but he was surprised by Vivienne's answer.

A lump formed in the old man's throat as he nodded with a small smile.. He nodded with a smile. “Who says you’re selfish and willful? In Grandpa’s eyes, our Vivienne is the most understanding girl in the world.”

Vivienne was about to shamelessly agree when she saw Cedric running into the garden.

“Sir…”

Caspian straightened up, his expression grave. “What happened?”

Cedric glanced at Vivienne. “Someone just came from Echostone House. They said Miss Bianca is missing.”
