Bianca's disappearance caused quite a stir at the Obsidian Estate. Cedric led the security team to search every courtyard. They thought they would find her quickly, but by nightfall, there was still no news.
Caspian looked grim. He didn't even eat dinner, simply ordering everyone to continue the search.
For the entire night, the lights of the Obsidian Estate burned brightly. Maids, managers, and guards turned the entire estate upside down, but there was no sign of her.
A young lady of the Ravenshire family had vanished without a trace, and panic set in among the staff at Echostone House.
Talia was pale, looking like she could collapse at any moment. Tessa was sobbing uncontrollably, blaming herself for not watching Bianca more carefully.
A chaotic night, and a chaotic state of mind for everyone involved.
Vivienne, however, drank her bedtime milk with Little Stray, stretched lazily, and turned off the lights to sleep.
Only she knew that Bianca was fine. The silly girl was currently squatting behind a tree in the hills behind the estate, feeding mosquitoes.
According to the plot, the Whitmores would learn of Bianca's disappearance tomorrow. Then, the old Mr. Whitmore, Frederick, would personally visit. Bianca, unable to bear the mosquito bites any longer, would reveal herself. Unwilling to see her parents divorce and emboldened by the Whitmores' support, she would threaten to kill herself to make Talia forgive Damien.
Frederick was even more ruthless. In front of Caspian, he would have one of Damien's legs broken and promise Talia that he would send the illegitimate son abroad. To reassure the Ravenshires, Frederick would even transfer all of Damien's assets to Bianca, which she could legally inherit upon turning eighteen.
It was precisely because of this that the tragedy of Talia's later death occurred.
It was all a calculated move by the Whitmores to appease the Ravenshires. They would never just hand over billions in assets to a girl in the family. So, after Talia's death, they schemed against Bianca step by step until she voluntarily gave up her inheritance rights.
Vivienne had returned to a very early point in the timeline. The current plot was still in its opening stages. Both Alaric, the revered head of the family, and Cyril, the master of Athelvia, were figures from ten years in the future. At this stage, they hadn't come into their full power yet.
Vivienne sighed and tapped the turtle's shell.
Reason and emotion sat on opposite ends of a scale. Vivienne couldn't decide. The more she thought, the drowsier she became, and soon she drifted off to sleep.
Within her closed consciousness lay an endless void.
Suddenly, faint green lights flickered on the dim Gate of Narrative. The vines wrapped around the book's cover seemed to awaken, slowly stirring.

The rusty clasp of the book suddenly fell away. The green light grew more brilliant, approaching a dazzling white.
All at once, the Gate of Narrative burst open. The yellowed pages flipped rapidly, and as the white light faded, the pages came to rest on a single, specific one.
