Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 8

As soon as Marissa and the others left, Serena finally caught on, frowning as she studied Vivienne. "Vivienne? What on earth is wrong with you?"

Vivienne paid Serena no mind, her gaze sweeping carefully around the room.

The twelve-panel rosewood doors carved with floral goddesses, the shadows of flowers painting the floor where the light fell, the grand, high-ceilinged hall, and the massive stained-glass atrium in the ceiling that poured down a great cascade of what looked like liquid gold… The hundred-year-old heritage of this great family, like the dusty scent of old book pages warmed by the sun, felt so real it made her fingertips tingle.

This was the main hall of Obsidian Estate.

"Vivienne, you…" Annoyed by Vivienne's disregard, Serena was about to speak when a figure appeared, walking up from downstairs.

Serena quickly composed herself and greeted him with a smile. "Cedric."

Cedric was the head butler of Caspian Garden. He had worked for the Ravenshire family for forty years, and his every word and action represented the will of the old master. So, even Serena didn't dare to offend him lightly.

"Madam, the old master heard about what happened in the front hall. He has asked for Miss Lexton to come see him," Cedric said, his eyes resting on Vivienne.

Grandfather?!

Vivienne was momentarily lost in thought.

"Cedric, Vivienne is still shaken. Could you give her a couple of minutes to calm down before she sees the old master?"

The matter of pushing Bianca down the stairs could be either major or minor. Serena felt she had to coach Vivienne carefully to prevent her from saying the wrong thing and displeasing the old master.

Cedric looked at Vivienne. Seeing her unfocused eyes and unsettled expression, he reluctantly nodded. "Mrs. Lexton, please don't keep the old master waiting too long." With that, he turned to leave.

"Wait."

Vivienne grabbed the corner of his coat. "I want to see Grandfather now."

Serena was stunned, her face twisting in displeasure. What was wrong with this damn girl? Why was she defying her again and again today?

Cedric was also a little surprised. He couldn't help but glance at Vivienne. In the past, this Miss Lexton had always listened to Serena in everything, putting her even before the old master. What had changed today?

Caspian Garden consisted of one garden and eight courtyards. Northwing Court was the main residence, occupying the largest area. Elder Mr. Ravenshire had a fondness for classical culture, so Northwing Court was filled not only with picturesque landscapes but also with flower halls, waterside pavilions...

Passing through the flower hall, shafts of daylight streamed through the sparse window lattices, falling onto a rosewood table. Dust motes danced in the light, and the air was filled with the familiar scent of old wood and flowers. In the courtyard, an old man in impeccably tailored silk loungewear was bent over a Peonielle plant, holding a pair of shears and examining it closely. Hearing a noise behind him, he immediately put down the shears and turned around.

The April breeze rustled, stirring the calm surface of Vivienne's heart. She looked on in a daze.

It was the same kind old man from her memories.

The same grandfather who had treasured her like the apple of his eye.

"Grandfather."

At that moment, she could no longer hold back her emotions. Choking back a sob, she ran toward Caspian.
