Before this, Caspian had already heard about Vivienne pushing Bianca down the stairs. Although he doted on Vivienne, he would never tolerate such behavior.

Vivienne couldn't believe what she was seeing was real. She stared intently at Caspian. "Grandfather, is it really you? I'm not dreaming, am I?"

Caspian found it amusing. "Didn't you just see Grandfather this morning? Why do you sound like we haven't seen each other in years?"

Vivienne's eyes stung with tears, and she struggled to hold them back.

It had been exactly three years.

"Ahem…" Cedric, finding the scene a bit much, cleared his throat to remind the old master of the matter at hand.

The old master's expression changed in a second. "Do you know why Grandfather asked you to come here?"

Vivienne was still caught up in the joy and shock of their reunion and didn't react immediately.

Caspian mistook her silence for another attempt to play dumb and felt a pang of disappointment. "Marissa and the others said you pushed Bianca down the stairs. I'm asking you, is what they said true?"

Ever since adopting Vivienne, Caspian had showered her with affection, rarely saying a harsh word to her. A cold, stern look like today's was unprecedented.

Vivienne was taken aback, only now remembering the scene before her.

The same thing had happened in the previous version of the story. Isabella had come to her crying about Bianca bullying her. She had gone to confront Bianca, but they had ended up arguing in the hallway. Somehow, Bianca had fallen down the stairs.

Grandfather had questioned her just like this back then. At that time, afraid of being punished, she had listened to Serena and lied, saying Bianca had fallen on her own. After that, Grandfather said nothing, and the matter was dropped.
