Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 90

The Montclair family had gambled half the clan's assets over the years to pave the way for Ethan. If he were to fall, the losses would be far greater than what could be measured in money.

Everyone understood this, so they didn't pursue the topic.

Leander asked, “Dorian, have your transfer orders come through? When are you planning to go to Merriton City?”

Dorian put down his teacup. “In the next few days. I'll ask the old man's opinion later.”

Speak of the devil.

Caspian walked slowly into the main hall, leaning on his cane. Cyril followed close behind, with Cedric after him.

“You’re all here?”

“Dad.” The second and third branches of the family stood up in unison.

The patriarch nodded, letting Cyril help him across the hall to the head seat.

“Sit.” Everyone sat down again, but their gazes involuntarily drifted to Cyril. However, they were all shrewd enough to look away without a trace after a brief inspection.

Cyril remained perfectly composed, his expression serene and unfazed by the attention.

Benedict was the first to lose his patience. “Dad, what's going on with the Whitmores?”

The old man frowned. “What's the rush? Let's talk business first. The marriage between Talia and the Whitmores is off. From now on, the Ravenshire family is to have no contact with the Whitmores—not in business, not in politics, not even if you're shopping in the same store! Is that clear?”

Caspian's gaze swept over his children, finally settling on Leander.

The third branch's Mrs. Ravenshire had passed away early, so Talia had grown up without much motherly love. Her two older brothers, Lucian and Benedict, were especially protective of her. Talia had a strong personality and had never suffered much hardship. Lucian was less concerned with hating the Whitmores and more worried that Talia wouldn't be able to handle the blow.

Caspian's expression softened. “It affected them, but it’s nothing major.”

Especially Bianca. The old man had worried she wouldn't be able to handle the shock and might do something drastic. But he'd heard that after she went back, she hadn't made a scene or thrown a tantrum. She had even thoughtfully comforted Talia.

Lucian thought for a moment. “Dad, why don't we let the girls get away for a while? We can bring them back after the adults have sorted this mess out?”

The Whitmores were malicious, and this divorce would probably not be easy.

Caspian had been thinking the same thing and nodded. “I was thinking the same thing. I had already planned for Vivienne and Bianca to go to Alderwick, but it seems we'll have to move the trip up.”
