The battle between the Wisteria Pack and their enemies ended hickly. In the same way reports suddenly flooded the pa about how the Starlight Pack had been taken down. Whispers of an alliance between the Green Pack and the Wisteria pack

too.

Meanwhile the Dartmouth Pack had been full of traitorous rogus masked as spies – rogues that were brought in as refugees by Raul himself.

The Alpha of the Dartmouth Pack had yet to respond either posively or negatively. I however didn’t give a damn. I was only glad that I had little to do with the mess.

Sighing, I raised my head at the sound of a knock on my door, my hand moving across the paper of my journal paused and I dropped the pen to rise to my feet.

“Who’s there?” I called out a little cautiously. I had just been coming off the heels of being abducted, accused, framed, and damn near assaulted and drugged. In every way I had a reason to be cautious despite it being late in the afternoon after the battle.

“Your worst nightmare,” The voice sounded almost comical and rolled my eyes before relaxing and striding to the door to fling it open.

Sabrina stood there making a face and I nearly laughed out loud

Letting her into the room I shut the door behind me while listening to her rant about the events in the pack.

“Did you hear? Elder Hale pled for a pardon at the trial,” she began and continued to fill me in on the things I didn’t care about.

Apparently Beta Draco and his entire family were implicated and they would have harsh sentences handed down by Caleb with approval from the Council.

I listened with a small smile as she droned on and on and put in few comments here and there.

“Oh and by the way,” Sabrina sighed heavily before pursing her lips uncomfortably. “Alpha Caleb has made his friend the

Beta.

I cocked a brow and gazed at her stiff expression.

You mean Jacob?” I asked and her face flushed red.

I knew exactly how she felt.

“Yes” She groaned with frustration. “I mean that Jacob. My mate Sabrina’s tone was full of mixed emotions.

“Well that’s good. At least he can trust his friend to not betray hi,” I said without a hint of smile. “It has nothing to do with me or you’

And I accepted it, accepted that Caleb and the Wisteria Park had nothing to do with ine. I hated it but I could become like Raul I couldn’t live a life full of grudges, even though the nightmares hurt I couldn’t let them eat me up. I just had to find a

way to move on.

Any way at all.

And that was why I would have to leave soun

Thinking of Caleb himself brought a mixed bag of emotions to my heart. I still felt the panic from nearly falling off the cliff and dying.

The way he had held me and told me everything would be okay that was a stark contrast from the cold and ruthless had known him to be towards me.

The one who had taunted me with his lovers and the cold words dripping from his lips like poisoned honey.

By the time I left the confines of my bedroom to do my final check on Elder Gerome, there was a sense of confusion in me.

I opened the door to hear the end of a conversation and I stilled Jacob was in the room.

“…approve of the match between you two as long as there’s nothing holding you back.”

That was Elder Gerome, with an approving tone to his voice. He sounded happy and upbeat.

“Of course Grandfather. I will talk to her and let you know,” Jacob spoke softly, almost hopeful.

I clenched my jaw. I knew they were talking about Sabrina.

“You aren’t going to say anything to her,” I said while stepping inside, making my presence known, I didn’t hesitate to slam the door shut behind me. Elder Gerome’s and Jacob’s eyes moved to stare at me. I folded my arms across my chest and glared at the both of them.

Jacob meanwhile stood immediately looking suddenly nervous and frustrated.

“What do you mean by that Luna-”

“My name is Daria,” I spoke sharply. All of a sudden everything I had been through ran through my mind in waves. I could hardly stop the growl that left my mouth as I raised my hand to point a finger at the two of them. “You think I will let

you ruin Sabrina’s life the way your Alpha ruined mine? Are you serious?”

Jacob face paled as he stepped forward.

But it was Elder Gerome who spoke, “I assure you, your friend is safe in Jacob’s hands. They are mates, the goddess has fated them to be together and our family is a prestigious one. She will ive a good life-”

“Oh? I thought a match like that would be a cursed one? You know, since you all called me cursed back then. Or do you think I have forgotten? And as for your prestigious family,” I said sarcastically. “Don’t think that I have forgotten that it is your family that specifically took him in.”

* Whatever values he has is mostly due to you, so don’t tell me that my friend will live a good life. Letting this go through would be damning her to a hopeless existence.”

With that I moved towards the corner to pick up my medicine box. It was a new one given by Caleb as a payment for the accusations levied against me but now I stared at it in disdain before removing my hand from it.

I wanted nothing from them. Not even a single breath.
