I left the hallway in a daze. My hands clenched and unclenched as I held back every urge to return to Daria’s bedroom for a sun knock on it until she opened, and then to pull her closer-
I growled lowly as I returned to my bedroom. I had been unable to rest and had focused on working to push the guilt away and the thoughts of Daria’s wellbeing.
Now it wasn’t only her well-being that remained on my mind.
I stripped my body of my clothes and went to bed. The sheets were cool against my burning skin. I knew it was desire that kept me awake.
I shut my eyes tightly and tried everything I could to think of something else that would draw me to sleep. Work for an Alpha never stopped and I’d have to get up early the next day to fulfill my duties.
But try as hard as I might it was fucking impossible.
Sweat beaded on my forehead. Images of a fantasy rushed through my mind and left its imprint on my body, drawing out more lust.
It had been a while since I’d had sex. I never thought of myself as needing it to survive but having my mate so close and being unable to touch her was maddening.
I thought of the few times I had performed my duty to her. Having sex with her before had been unpleasant no matter how much my body wanted it. Because she was Alpha Kingston’s daughter.
Her body had been nothing compared to the disdain I felt for her at that time.
But that was then.
Things are different now.
Now her scent alone made me curse my younger self. How foolish I had been. How terribly I had treated her.
Even in bed I had been cruel and selfish. I wouldn’t even kiss her or let her enjoy the act too much. I would turn up usually with a few drinks in my system and only fuck her until I came. Then I’d leave her wanting.
“You’re a fucking bastard,” I cursed myself openly.
I couldn’t take this anymore. If I couldn’t get Daria then I’d have to try and distract myself with someone else for the night.
Felicia’s image flashed through my mind and I cringed inwardly and grimaced.
Definitely not her.
My decision was made, I grabbed a pair of dark jeans and black utton down shirt. I was heading to the pack’s club tonight. Slipping out to not have anyone recognize me, I got to the club and sat at the bar with ease,
“A whiskey on the rocks.” Fordered
The bartender bowed in acknowledgement and had my order front of me within less than a mim

The music pounded in my ears and the bass was like a heartbeat. I closed my eyes briefly to savor the sensation that intensified the heat within my gut.
But suddenly that feeling was ripped away with the sound of a familiar voice.
“Baby. You’re here.”
Felicia.
I scowled unwittingly and turned to regard her. She wore a halter neck dress that was so short I doubted anyone would call it a dress. Her cleavage was exposed and her skin shone with glitter
She smirked seductively.
“Like what you see?”
“Not one bit. You should cut your losses and leave me the fuck alone Felicia.“
Her wide eyes would be comical if it wasn’t anger inducing to look at.
“But baby-”
“Don’t fucking call me that. Did you think I would forget your actions because you look like this. Besides,” I sneered. “You didn’t come out here to meet me. Whatever man you’re with isn my business. Now get the fuck away from me.”
She gasped and I saw tears in her eyes. But they didn’t move me. I stood and grabbed my drink to move away from her without another word.
Frustration mixed with my urges and I gulped down the entire drink before letting out a heavy sigh.
“Sounds like a terrible night.”
My face was a bit obscured by the shadows on the dance floor. I turned to see a girl who stood beside me with a smile. Unconsciously my eyes moved up and down her body. She didnt look bad. In fact…
My lips curled up into a smirk that I knew was charming.
“Not now it isn’t.” I replied with a wink. She let out a melodic laugh.
Before long we were talking and while we did, the sensation of eses boring holes into me didn’t faze me. Felicia was still glaring at me from where she stood and I ignored her entirely.
The girl leaned into my body and her hands pressed against my chest, I knew what she was after and I didn’t waste any time. I pressed my lips against hers and we began to make out.
Her moans came out softly as I explored her body with my hands and lips. It wasn’t difficult to snag a private room but the thought of being anywhere near Felicia at this time was displeasing.
“Where do you live?” I asked.
Her pupils were blown as she stammered out, “Not far.”
Together we left the club.
And by the time we got to the park house where she lived my ausal was off the charts. Perhaps it was also an effect of the full moon that would come in a few days, but I didn’t care.
I needed release.

The girl pulled me into her bedroom and I pressed her against the door. Her scent wasn’t pleasant enough but it was mild enough for me to pretend it was someone else’s floral scent.
Her body wasn’t exactly the one I wanted either.
With each step I took towards the bed it became ever clear to me This wasn’t going the way I wanted.
The hints of dissatisfaction that raged through me were telling. pulled away from the moaning and whining girl that writhed under my ministrations. She may have been enjoying it but I wasn’t.
I stepped back and she opened her eyes with confusion. She looked up at me with parted lips. The room was dark save for the moonlight streaming in through the curtains but my eyes were far sharper than a civilian werewolves. She wasn’t olessed at all. I didn’t care though. I was leaving.
“No need. This is a fucking mistake.” I spat out with disgust. Not for her but for myself.
“Wha. But. Wait-”
Her cries didn’t make me waver. I stormed out of the otherwise quiet pack house swiftly. My hands shook and I pulled out the small keg to sip the whiskey.
The rest of the night became a large blue. By the time I opened my eyes it was daylight.
I grunted heavily. My limbs felt contorted and my back was against a hard surface. It took some time for me to discern that I was back in my study. A curse left my lips.
How much did I drink last night?
Sitting up from the floor I raised my hand to rub my eyes. The sent of charcoal hit my nostrils and I pulled my hand away to peer at it. My fingers were blackened.
Without much thought I glanced to the side in mild shock.
There, an old large sketchbook lay.
It had been a while since I had the inspiration to sketch anything
That skill had long been forgotten since I gave up doodling on Elder Gerome’s books as a prank as a child. Once I began intense training as a warrior and set myself on the path to leadership and eventually became Alpha I never had the inspiration to even sketch, despite the many times I tried.
Picking up the aged book I looked at the latest entry. A page filled with charcoal fingerprints like a persistent oil stain but a subject stood out in the center of it all.
Her.
My sketch of Daria was muddy in some places, which I silently atributed more to not indulging in this long forgotten hobby easily,
I swallowed heavily and closed the book.
Even drunk I couldn’t forget her.
I was losing it.
