The sun was high in the sky. Already I was panting from the exertion of Speedo mg g through the forest at breakneck speed I had been determined to leave the wisteria packs borders before anyone would find out I had gone. Eventually though, I slowed my pace before stopping at a stream. The flowing water oked so refreshing and my throat was parched. I hadn’t gotten to eat breakfast either and my stomach growled in need.
Sighing a little k bent down to cup some of the cool water in my palms before taking a full.
The burst of freshness was only comparable to seeing the sun shine down after a super gloomy day.
Damn.
I cupped some more water and drank recalling that there was a spring north of the border I had just left. It would take some time to be truly far away from the wisteria pack. But I was glad I left.
I stood after a while of listening to the birds chirp and watching the environment. It felt peaceful. But I had no choice but to move on. I had to keep moving or any of the patrol guards could find me.
While I walked I kept at a steady pace. My destination was my home. I intended to get there and rest before packing up to move to another place. I had been there for far too long and I couldn’t risk anyone tracing me back to that place. Especially not Caleb Ir my father.
Shivering as a small breeze moved through the forest and rustled the trees I tried to distract myself by taking in my surroundings. One of the things I loved so much about being on my own was the freedom to travel. I relished in being able to cook my own foods, travel to wherever I wanted, see whatever I wanted. It was something like no other.
Thinking of whatever the future held for me was like opening up a blank page and writing in it however I liked. And wasn’t that just the best feeling ever.
I stopped briefly to rest again and picked some wild blueberries and other nuts that I could find easily. I munched on them while I kept my ears open for movement. But by now my anxiousness had well and truly melted away.
After taking a small drink of the water I had filled from the stream before, I dusted myself off and stood from the boulder I
sat on.
But as soon as I did that I froze.
Was I dreaming or…..
My nose wrinkled and k frowned a little.
The scent of someone or something was in the air
Had I not noticed it before?
I lifted my nose up cautiously in the air and sniffed slowly Dre began to look in my abdomen and tensed while I stuffed a second time
My hands twitched and I took several steps forward with my car pricked and I stopped again whilst bending down as if to check the bag torness
Meanwhile my thoughts were running around my misi chaotic ly

I was being tailed. I hadn’t noticed it before but the sounds of footsteps were unmistakable. And they were not mine.
But who would tail me.
Was it Caleb?
No it couldn’t be. He couldn’t have returned so early from his trip could he.
I frowned and continued to fiddle around with the already well placed straps while my mind raced.
If not Caleb then who else could it be.
I thought of the threatening note that I had received back at the wisteria pack and looked around searchingly. L
The forest was quiet and I saw no one. I was alone with no one around me.
Convincing myself I was thinking it up and I began to move again. But then as I reached a point I stopped as a sharp realization shot through me.
It WAS quiet.
TOO quiet.
Not even the sounds of birds chirping filled the air like it had done a while ago. Before I could act on that thought I heard a shifting movement behind me. Then a growl. I didn’t wait. I broke off into a run.
What had been only one wolf at first turned into three. Then into five. I dodged and turned and changed my route. But when I realized I couldn’t get away I knew I had no choice.
A fight it would have to be.
Murmuring a short prayer to the moon goddess I took off the bag and flung it to the side before shifting. I barely got to throw off my jacket as my top ripped into pieces and I leapt at the first wolf that came after me.
The wolf hadn’t expected me to do that and I made quick work of it.
One of the things many didn’t know I had learnt due to my calm nature was how to fight. I had to learn it as a way of survival. Every so often I had come across a group or a few people who thought they could boss me around. Woth no one to defend me I learnt to defend myself and I defeat the enemy.
Of all the things I was, weak wasn’t one of them.
I lashed out and slashed the wolf’s jaw which bled. The wolf let at a pained howl and the other wolves seemed to grow even angrier. Their gazes were fixed on me and they darkened with fury.
I began to weave through the trees. That was my strategy. Every so often I would turn back and trap one of the wolves and kill them. Then I would run again. But as time went on I realized The wolves seemed to be uncreasing in number
Damn it
1 bit down on every urge to give up and put speed behind my hels. I can without caring where I would end up. I had to think of a way to escape these wolves
All of a sudden burst into a drating and saw a wolf charging a very familiar one. Caleb
My heart sunwittingly leaps in my thusat. And without thinking acted

In the end it turned out like this
Back to the present
Guilt swirled inside my gut like a forbidden hangover.
How had I ended up saving Caleb’s life instead of fleeing the wisteria pack.

I moved to a private area to shift back to my form and grabbed my bag to change into some clothes. By the time I was done the sounds of discussion had broken out.
I listened numbly while arranging my thoughts.
