Ditched the Cheater, Pregnant by Mr. Righ novel Chapter 102

Chapter 102 Public Accusation

“I’m Harold’s son.”

Ethan stared straight at Quinn, his expression cold and hostile.

Finished

He had already seen Quinn’s photos from the private investigator, but seeing her in person still caught hima off guard.

She was even more striking than the pictures.

With a face like that, it was easy to understand how his father could lose his head.

Not just his father.

For a split second, even Ethan felt himself distracted by her appearance.

His jaw tightened immediately, and the brief thought turned into anger.

“We need to talk,” he said.

Quinn looked puzzled. “You’re Harold’s son? What exactly do you want to talk about?”

“I want to ask you something…”

“Ethan!”

Before he could finish, someone called his name sharply.

Ethan turned around in shock.

“Mom? What are you doing here?”

He had planned to talk to Quinn alone first and convince her to stay away from his father.

This whole situation was something he never wanted his mother to know about.

For as long as Ethan could remember, his parents had always been the kind of couple other people envied. They had built their life together from nothing. Even after Harold’s company grew bigger and bigger over the years, his attitude toward his wife had never changed.

In Ethan’s eyes, Harold had always been the model husband and an even better father.

That was why a few days ago, when Lydia Whitman hesitantly told him she suspected Harold might be having an affair, Ethan felt like the ground had dropped out from under him.

He couldn’t believe it.

Or more accurately, he refused to believe it.

In his mind, Harold had always been like a towering pillar in their family, steady and unshakable.

And now that pillar suddenly seemed ready to collapse.

Very quickly, Ethan redirected all of his anger toward Quinn,

His father was successful, disciplined, and respected by everyone who knew him. His values and reputation had always been spotless.

If something had gone wrong, then it had to be because of the woman standing in front of him.

Just looking at Quinn’s face made him more certain.

She had the kind of beauty that could make people lose their judgment.

His father might be older now, but he still kept himself in great shape. He looked good for his age, and more importantly, he was wealthy and influential.

Ethan had seen enough stories to know that there were always women willing to chase money and status.

In his mind. Quinn was exactly that type.

Earlier that day he had already called her and cursed her out, but the anger still hadn’t gone away.

So he followed Harold to the hotel that evening. And there she was again, walking into the same place.

She still had the nerve to meet his father here? Ethan’s temper finally snapped, and he stepped forward to confront her.

What he hadn’t expected was that his mother would suddenly show up.

He had been keeping everything from Lydia.

Two years earlier she had undergone major surgery and her health had never fully recovered. Ethan had been careful not to stress her out with anything serious.

“Mom,” Ethan said quickly, grabbing her arm. “Why did you come here? Please just go home, alright?”

But Lydia’s gaze had already moved past him and settled on Quinn,

“I know everything.”

Ethan looked at his mother with worry and guilt in his eyes. “Mom…”

Lydia gently pulled her arm free and walked toward Quinn.

“You and Harold…” Her voice was tight, but controlled. “You knew he was married. You knew he had a family, didn’t you?”

Quinn frowned, completely confused by the accusation.

“Of course I know he’s married, but-”

“So you really don’t feel any shame?” Lydia cut her off, the hurt in her voice spilling out as anger. “You

knowingly get involved with a married man and break up someone’s family, and you still think that’s acceptable?”

Quinn stared at her in disbelief.

“What are you talking about?” she said. “Why are you attacking me like this? Who exactly do you think the other woman is?”

“Oh. so now you’re pretending you don’t know?” Lydia said.

Under normal circumstances Lydia was a calm and gentle woman, someone who rarely raised her voice.

But tonight the shock and heartbreak had pushed her to the edge.

She had spent decades building a life with Harold. They had supported each other through hard times and celebrated every success together.

At this stage of their lives, she had never imagined he would betray her.

Quinn shook her head slowly. “Admit what? I think you’ve got the wrong person.”

Suddenly she remembered the phone call from earlier in the car.

The angry voice. She looked at the young man standing beside Lydia. It was him.

“I think there’s been some kind of misunderstanding here,” Quinn said.

Ethan stared at her with burning anger.

“A misunderstanding?” he said loudly. “Harold Whitman is my father. I’ve been watching you two for days. You think I didn’t notice how many times you met him this week?”

His voice rose, drawing attention from people walking through the lobby.

“And the hotel visits too,” he added bitterly. “Don’t act innocent now.”

People nearby began to slow down.

A few guests stopped completely, whispering to each other while glancing toward Quinn.

Some even pointed. The noise around her seemed to swell all at once.

Quinn felt her head buzz as if someone had struck a bell beside her ear. She had never experienced anything like this before.

Being accused and insulted in front of a crowd of strangers.

Even though she knew this was clearly a misunderstanding, standing there under so many judging eyes made it hard to think clearly for a moment.

“You’ve got it all wrong!”

Lucy’s voice suddenly cut through the tension. She pushed through the small crowd and pulled Quinn

behind her.

“I’d think twice before sticking your nose into this,” Ethan snapped.

He was furious and worried about his mother, and right now he had no patience left for anyone.

“That woman is a homewrecker,” he said harshly. “People like her deserve to be called out.”

“You seriously don’t know what you’re talking about,” Lucy shot back.

Quinn watched Ethan’s aggressive posture and clenched fists.

A flicker of worry crossed her mind.

What if he loses his temper and takes it out on Lucy?
