Chapter 260 Sweet and Obedient
“I already ate.” Julian said. “But I didn’t have much. Want to go get some late–night snacks?”
Quinn froze for a second.
Julian smiled. “You said the dinner earlier wasn’t any good. Let me take you somewhere nice.”
Quinn looked up at him. “What should we get?”
The word “we” sounded incredibly nice to Julian’s ears.
He grinned. “Get in the car first.”
He turned and opened the passenger door for her. “Coming?”
Only then did Quinn notice that Julian was driving a different car again.
This time it was a tough, rugged–looking SUV, powerful and imposing.
But he wants me to sit in the front seat?
Tished
The vehicle was tall. As she stepped up onto the running board, Julian reached out and steadied her.
Once she was settled, she realized there was no driver.
Julian walked around the front and slid right into the driver’s seat himself.
“You drove here yourself?” Quinn asked in surprise.
Julian almost always had a driver and security with him wherever he went.
“I thought it’d be nice to drive you around,” he said, glancing at her. “Seatbelt.”
Quinn quickly pulled the belt across her chest.
Something seemed off with the buckle. She tried twice but couldn’t get it to click.
Julian leaned over toward her. The cool, clean scent of him washed over her at once.
Quinn tensed up automatically, pressing back against the seat.
Julian took the buckle and fastened it with a crisp click.
Quinn’s cheeks warmed. “Thanks.”
“No problem,” he smiled. “You’re so polite, Quinn.”
Her face turned even redder.
He started the car and spoke softly, “You don’t have to be so formal with me, okay?”

Quinn gave a quiet hum in response.
Julian glanced at her. “Is there anything you feel like eating? I can get it for you, as long as it’s not too crazy,”
“I want clam chowder,” Quinn said.
Julian looked at her in surprise. “I thought you’d still be too shy to ask for something.
He hadn’t expected her to be direct this time.
“I like it when you’re like this. I’m really happy, Quinn.”
Quinn looked out the window. “Just… concentrate on driving.”
Julian laughed softly. “Yes, ma’am.”
After a moment, he added, “Is it okay if I make a quick call?”
Quinn frowned a little in confusion. “Why are you asking me?”
“I want to check with you first. You told me to focus on the road. I didn’t want to upset you by talking on the phone.”
Quinn was almost at a loss for words. “You don’t need my permission…”
“Nah, I do,” Julian chuckled. “I’m actually pretty well–behaved, you know.”
Quinn felt instantly flustered and embarrassed.
Julian wouldn’t have said that for no reason.
She’d mentioned to Lucy before that she liked guys who were sweet and obedient.
No doubt Lucy had ratted her out. That was why he was teasing her like this.
Quinn wanted to disappear into her seat.
Sure enough, a second later, he spoke up. “Heard you like boyfriends who are on their best behavior?”
“That’s not–I never said that…” Quinn’s face burned. “Don’t listen to Lucy, she makes stuff up.”
“So it’s not true?” Julian let out a low, amused laugh. “Well, either way, I can be on my best behavior. Especially for my girlfriend.”
Quinn looked away, her ears bright red.
I’m definitely going to have a word with Lucy when I get home. How could she betray me like that?
She’d assumed Julian would take her somewhere fancy and upscale.
For someone of his status, he usually ate at places most people could never even get into.

Instead, he drove her to a quiet, somewhat out–of–the–way spot.
He parked the car outside, and the two of them started walking down the narrow alley.
