Julian let out a soft sigh. “You don’t have to apologize. I’m a little upset, but I care about you more. Let’s go home first. It’s freezing out–you need a warm shower when we get back, okay?”
Quinn nodded.
Julian went on, “About Rosalie…”
Quinn looked at him steadily, waiting.
Julian couldn’t help reaching over to ruffle her hair. “I’ll have someone look into this properly. I’ll give you a full explanation.”
Quinn nodded quickly. “Okay.”
She grew shy a moment later. “Thank you.”
“You don’t need to thank me,” Julian said. “But promise me you won’t be so reckless again. No matter what happens, your health comes first. Got it?”
“I… I wasn’t thinking straight back then. I don’t even know what came over me,” Quinn mumbled.
Julian studied her. “Quinn… you were hurting because of me, right? It hurt you to think I was with someone else. Does that mean… you feel something for me?”
Quinn turned her face toward the window, her ears burning bright red.
He didn’t need to ask. Her reaction was answer enough.
Julian’s heart melted.
He wanted to pull her into his arms and hold her tight.
के
But he also knew that until he cleared everything up, a small part of her would still doubt him.
And he wanted to know why Rosalie had lied in the first place.
Without his knowledge, he’d somehow become her boyfriend..
After dropping Quinn off and asking Lucy to make sure she took a warm bath, Julian immediately ordered his men to investigate the whole mess.
It didn’t take long for the truth to come out.
Meanwhile, Rosalie was waiting in the cafe for Julian to arrive.
She’d dressed carefully, with delicate, understated makeup-
the kind that made men think she was just naturally beautiful, not wearing any at all.
She’d arrived early. hoping to make a good first impression.

Chapter 271 The Wrong Man
Rosalie felt excited, nervous, and hopeful all at once.
After all, his family was far beyond anything she’d ever dared to dream of.
They’d grown close over their messages, but they’d never video–called.
She wanted to keep an air of mystery, so their first in–person meeting would feel even more special. She wanted to see the shock and admiration on Julian’s face when he first saw her.
She’d poured everything into her look today.
A man like Julian had probably seen every kind of beautiful woman there was.
But she wasn’t worried. They’d been talking for so long, after all.
She was certain they’d already built real feelings between them. That was her advantage.
She’d always known how to handle men.
Julian might be powerful, but he is still a man.
And if he is a man, I can win him over.
Rosalie’s imagination ran wild with visions of her future.
If I really ended up with Julian, I’d become his wife–the lady of the Sterling family.
I’d be at the very top of high society, looking down on everyone else
The circles I’d once begged to enter would soon be bowing to me.
I’d never have to grovel or please anyone ever again.
Smug and satisfied, she daydreamed of a glamorous, powerful life ahead.
When footsteps approached, Rosalie quickly put on her most graceful smile and looked up.
But the man who came into view was in his thirties–not Julian at all.
