Things were finally back on track.

And Julian finally had the chance to ask the question he’d been waiting to say.

Quinn’s emotions had been all over the place that day.

After everything that happened, she could no longer deny what she felt for him.

If she didn’t care for Julian at all, why would she have been so hurt thinking he was with Rosalie?

She’d already known she’d fallen for him long before.

She’d been so out of it that she’d sat outside in the freezing cold without a care for her own safety.

If Julian hadn’t found her, she might have frozen.

If that wasn’t proof of how much she loved him, what was?

But when Julian asked her directly, Quinn couldn’t bring herself to say a word.

She’d already used up all her courage confronting him earlier, thinking he was seeing Rosalie.

Now that he asked so gently, she just felt shy.

She couldn’t speak, so she simply nodded.

He wanted to pull her into his arms right then and make things official between them.

There was so much he wanted to do with her.

Quinn suddenly sneezed.

He handed her a tissue. “Take your medicine in a little while, and get some early sleep tonight.”

Quinn glanced up at him.

She’d thought he would keep pushing, make her say the words out loud.

And she would have, even if it embarrassed her.

But Julian didn’t ask again. He didn’t bring up their feelings at all.

Quinn visibly relaxed.

It wasn’t that Julian didn’t want to hear it. He just refused to pressure her.

If they really cared for each other, things would fall into place naturally.

Quinn had just opened her heart to him, and he was willing to keep pursuing her properly.

He’d only been trying to win her over for a few days.

He’d sent her just one bouquet of flowers.

It was nowhere near enough to show how much he cared.

She hadn’t been able to tell if Julian’s feelings for her were truly one of a kind.

Even then, Quinn still couldn’t believe just how deeply Julian cared for her.

Julian had told her to rest, and she really did feel unwell.

Her head was still fuzzy, and even with the medicine, she felt light and unsteady.

She lay down on the bed and drifted off quickly, the medication taking effect before she could overthink any more.

After Julian left, he was on his way back to the office when Zeke called.
