Chapter 345 Love That Transcends All

“I’ve come back to visit him many times since I grew up. He told me stories about him and his wife. Even back then, I thought: if I ever had a girlfriend, I’d bring her here.”
Quinn finally understood why Julian had chosen this place.
It wasn’t a famous scenic spot, and the views were nothing special.
This was the real reason.
He squeezed her hand and said, “I’ve always admired the old man’s love. I told myself I’d find someone I truly loved and grow old with her. Status, family background, none of that matters. Only the person I care about counts.”
In that moment, Quinn felt a deep, overwhelming warmth in her chest.
She’d always thought Julian liked her, but not this deeply.
Now she realized she’d seriously underestimated how sincere he was.
She felt touched, and guilty too.
It had been nearly half a year since they first met.
She’d liked him for a long time, but had held back, hesitated, and overthought everything.
She’d worried about their difference in status, family, and social standing.
But Julian said none of that mattered.
Compared to him, her feelings felt selfish and unworthy.
She’d even found herself imagining how much it would hurt if they broke up.
Why did she keep thinking about breaking up?
Because she’d never truly believed in this relationship.
She’d never had faith in it.
But now…
She let go of his hand.
Julian looked at her, confused.
Quinn reached around his waist and pressed her cheek gently against his chest.
Julian froze, then carefully wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.
They stood there in a quiet embrace for a long time.

Eventually, Julian worried she might get cold and led her back down the mountain.
He’d already reserved a table at a cozy private restaurant.
After lunch, they wandered around a nearby botanical garden.
They got back to her place around four in the afternoon.
Julian had a work dinner that night he couldn’t skip, so he couldn’t stay for dinner.
But they’d spent almost the entire day together, and Quinn was already more than happy.
For her, this was her first real, proper date.
Julian walked her to the door and said, “Eat well. If you’re alone, don’t open the door for anyone.”
“I only open it after checking the video doorbell,” Quinn said.
“Call me anytime if you need anything.”
“Okay.”
“I’m heading out, then.”
Quinn asked, “Will you be drinking at your dinner?”
“Probably.”
“Then don’t drink too much,” she said. “I’m not trying to control you… it’s just bad for your health.”
“Not controlling me?” Julian smiled. “I told you-only my girlfriend gets to tell me what to do. You’re my girlfriend. Who else if not you?”
This time, Quinn didn’t look away shyly. She looked straight into his eyes and saw the deep affection and softness in his gaze.
“Alright,” she said. “Then don’t drink too much.”
“Okay. I’ll listen to you.”
Julian still hadn’t moved. “I really should go now.”
“Wait.”
“Yes?”
Quinn was mentally cheering herself on.
She knew if she didn’t make the first move, Julian probably wouldn’t push anything.
He was a total gentleman.
