Chapter 415 Greed Drives the Evil Deed

“That won’t be necessary, Julian spoke flatly. “This matter has nothing more to do with you, so long as you had no part in it.”
Mark caught his underlying suspicion right away.
“An innocent person has nothing to hide. Feel free to look into anything you need, I will fully cooperate,” he replied.
Julian ended the call without another word.
Quinn had been moved from the emergency room to a private ward, which Julian had arranged quietly. Medication for her concussion left her feeling drowsy all the time
With Quinn resting soundly, Julian stepped out to deal with Faye’s case.
Word soon came that Faye had already been taken into police custody. He left trusted people to look after Quinn and headed straight to the police station.
What started out as a traffic accident was now classified as premeditated assault with intent to kill, making the case far more serious.
Julian met Faye face to face. She never expected her scheme to fall apart so quickly, nor did she think the hired driver would lose his nerve and fail to kill the target.
She had contacted the killer herself, and all the money transferred came straight from her own account. People could only say she was either reckless or foolish. In truth, she was plainly foolish.
After their talk, Julian came to see her true nature. Still, Faye refused to reveal her real motive. She kept repeating that she only wanted to teach Quinn a lesson.
She simply disliked Quinn, just because Quinn was close friends with Zoe.
Julian finally learned that Faye had met Quinn once when Zog invited her out before.
r Leaving the station, he called Zoe at once. Zoe was utterly shocked after hearing everything and scolded Faye severely.
“I’m going to the hospital to see Quinn right away,” she said anxiously..
“There’s no need.” Julian’s tone turned even colder. “Don’t go near her to disturb her lately.”
Zoe was filled with deep guilt. “I’m so sorry…”
Julian hung up immediately. This trouble had landed on Quinn out of nowhere, and it all traced back to Zoe. He could not bring himself to be polite to her at all.
Fuming with anger, Zoe hurried home to tell her parents the whole story. They were terrified beyond words the moment they heard the news. They could not believe Faye dared to commit such a terrible
crime.

If she could be this cruel to Quinn, who was just an acquaintance, what might she do to Zoe herself? Zoe’s father grew increasingly uneasy and wasted no time getting in touch with Mark.
Mark had known the two young girls did not get along well, yet he always thought it was nothing more than trivial childish quarrels. He never imagined Faye would go to such extremes just because of a friendship.
Zoe’s father voiced his worry. “If Faye truly did this out of conflict related to our daughter, once she goes to prison, her parents will surely hold a grudge against our family.”
“I will handle all of this properly,” Mark assured him.
When Faye’s parents got the news, they were stunned. They were staying in Voss City and planned to rush straight to Lakeshore City at once, until Mark called them.
“Mark, there must be some misunderstanding. You have to save our daughter,” Faye’s father begged anxiously.
“The evidence is conclusive, and she has already confessed,” Mark said sternly. “Do you know who she tried to kill? She went after Julian Sterling’s girl.”
The couple nearly collapsed in shock. No one dared to cross Julian.
They had long assumed that since Mark had no children of his own, his entire fortune would one day pass down to their daughter. That was why they always treated Mark with great respect.
Now that Faye had messed up badly and displeased Mark, they quickly decided to distance themselves from her, blaming everything on her foolish choices/Even so, they still traveled to Lakeshore City to meet her.
Once all the officers left, Faye finally dared to speak the truth in a low whisper. “Mom, Dad, please get me out of here. I did all this for our family.”
“How could you be so stupid? Who told you to do such awful things?” her parents snapped softly, wary of surveillance cameras.
She lowered her voice even more. “I found out Quinn looks exactly like Aunt Xenia.” ľ
“What did you say?” Her father, Troy Jinn, paced around nervously. “Are you absolutely sure?”
“I saw her clearly!” Faye nodded firmly. “If Quinn is actually Uncle Mark’s daughter, none of his wealth will ever belong to our family in the future.”
The whole family had long regarded Mark’s property as their destined possession.
