Chapter 68 A Sudden Visit
“I saw it with my own eyes,” Julian said, still irritated. “Just handle it. Talk to her properly.”
Veronica was stunned. “What exactly did you see? What happened? What did Lucy do?”
Julian did not want to explain. Just thinking about it gave him a headache.
“You can ask her yourself,” he said. “Just deal with it.”
Then he hung up.

Julian might have delegated the issue and moved on, but Veronica’s mind was now in complete chaos.
Lucy had questionable sexual orientation? And Julian had witnessed something?
She could not sit still.
Grabbing her car keys, she rushed out the door.
Before starting the car, she sent Lucy a message. “Are you home? I need to talk to you.”
Lucy did not reply.
It’s already past ten. Is she asleep? Probably not. Lucy usually stays up half the night, so she might just be in the shower.
Veronica decided not to wait and drove straight over.
As she knocked on the door, she was still trying to figure out how to bring up such an awkward subject.
The door opened. Quinn stood there.
“Quinn, are you feeling better?” Veronica asked as she stepped inside and slipped off her shoes like she owned the place.
“Much better,” Quinn replied. “Veronica, what brings you here this late?”
“I came to see Lucy about something.” Veronica glanced upstairs. “Is she up there?”
“She’s asleep,” Quinn explained. “She had a few drinks earlier. She passed out as soon as we got back.”
“She was drinking? With who?”
“With her coworkers.”
“That girl…” Veronica sighed.
She realized this was not a conversation she could have tonight, but since she had already come all this way, leaving immediately would seem strange.
“Has Chase been bothering you again?” Veronica asked.

“He sent me some messages.” Quinn said. “I didn’t respond.”
They sat down on the couch.

Veronica said, “Ignore him. Honestly, tomorrow you should call his father again and have him step in.”
“I was thinking the same thing.”
Veronica hesitated for a moment before speaking again.
“Quinn, you and Lucy have been close for years. Sometimes there are things she won’t tell me, but she might tell you.”
Quinn smiled slightly. “She’s closer to you than anyone.”
“I’m not jealous,” Veronica said quickly. “I just want to ask, has Lucy ever told you whether she’s dated anyone before?”
Quinn shook her head. “She hasn’t. She used to complain about it actually. She said it was a shame she never dated anyone in college.”
“Does she have anyone she’s flirting with now?“__=
“I haven’t heard her mention anyone.”
“That’s strange,” Veronica muttered under her breath. “Then how did Julian know?”
Quinn did not catch what she said.
“What was that?”
ル
“Nothing,” Veronica replied quickly. “I’ll talk to her tomorrow.”
After all, sexual orientation was a very private matter. Veronica could not go around speculating before confirming anything with Lucy.
They chatted for a while longer before Veronica finally left.
Quinn had already showered before going out to pick Lucy up earlier. But after returning home, she showered again.
Only after washing thoroughly did she finally feel like the faint cool scent had disappeared from her skin.
The scent that belonged exclusively to Julian.
When Quinn and Lucy slept, they both stayed on their own sides of the bed.
The king sized mattress had more than enough space, so sleeping together was actually comfortable.
But Quinn knew she would not be sleeping in that bed many more times.
She needed to find her own place soon. After all, Julian had made his opinion clear.

With so much on her mind, sleep did not come easily.
She only managed three or four hours of broken sleep. At dawn, she woke up.
Chase had sent her a flood of messages, all apologies and promises to change.
She did not read them. She certainly did not reply.

Rosalie had also sent messages, trying to speak on Chase’s behalf and asking Quinn to give him another
chance.
Quinn replied, “I’m definitely getting a divorce.”
After that, she spent forty minutes doing yoga in the living room downstairs. Then she went out to buy breakfast.
When she came back, Lucy was already awake and talking on the phone.
Quinn walked into the kitchen, arranged the breakfast on plates, and carried them to the table.
Lucy came downstairs, yawning and rubbing her eyes.
“Quinn, why are you up so early?”
成
“It’s not that early.” Quinn said. “Go wash up first. Breakfast is ready.”
Lucy plopped down at the table anyway.

“Seven’s secretary just called me,” she said. “He told me I need to move.”
Quinn froze mid movement. “Move?”
“Yeah,” Lucy said. “Completely out of nowhere. Apparently he’s giving me an apartment and wants me to move in right away. But the good news is it’s still in the same neighborhood. The place is already furnished too, so we can just bring our suitcases and move in.”
Hearing that, Quinn said, “Then you should move. But Lucy, I already scheduled an appointment with a realtor this afternoon to look at apartments.”
Lucy’s eyes widened. “Look at apartments for what? I already told you, you don’t need your own place. We can just live together.”
“It’s better if I move out,” Quinn said gently. “Lucy, don’t get upset. Just hear me out. After my divorce, I’ll probably start dating again someday. If we’re still living together, that could get awkward.”
Of course, that was just an excuse.
Given how repulsed she currently felt toward men, Quinn knew she would not even consider dating again anytime soon.
But if she did not say something like that, Lucy would never agree to let her move out.
Sure enough, Lucy said, “That makes sense… but couldn’t you wait until you actually find a boyfriend
