Ditched the theater Piequant by My Mr Right
Chapter 77 A Dangerous Awareness
No one had expected Julian to show up.

Whenever this man appeared, his presence filled the room in a way that made it impossible to ignore him.
How was she supposed to fall asleep with him there?
Even so, the hospital room was quiet, and the medication slowly began to take effect. Before long, Quinn drifted off to sleep.
Julian seemed to be handling work. He held his phone in one hand, occasionally speaking a few quiet
sentences.
Lucy, having nothing better to do, picked up her phone and started playing a game.
She had not been playing for long when a call suddenly popped up. She quickly muted it, then stood up and stepped outside to answer it.
A short while later she returned and spoke in a low voice.
“Seven,” she said, “Veronica needs me for something. Since Quinn is asleep now, I’m going to head out for a bit.”
Julian had no interest in talking to her. He waved his hand dismissively, signaling for her to leave.
Lucy glanced at Quinn, then at the IV bag hanging beside the bed. There was still quite a bit left.
She stepped outside, gave a few instructions to the bodyguards, spoke briefly with the nurse, and only then left.
Veronica had called her, asking her to pick up an urgent document.
Lucy had no choice but to go.
After she left, Julian put down his phone and turned to look at Quinn.
She slept quietly, both arms resting neatly at her sides. Her head tilted slightly to one side, allowing Julian to see her profile clearly.
Whenever she smiled, a faint dimple appeared on her cheek.
Did Lucy kiss her right there earlier?
Julian suddenly had the absurd urge to get up, wipe that spot clean, and then kiss it himself several times.
He abruptly tore his gaze away, his throat tightening as he swallowed hard.
He could not allow his mind to keep wandering like this. If he did, he would probably end up needing another freezing cold shower.
After taking a moment to steady himself, he looked at her again.

Quinn’s skin was very fair, which made the faint bluish shadows beneath her eyes especially noticeable.
Lucy had said she had barely been eating or sleeping these past few days.
Was the incident on the yacht too much for her to handle? Or had Chase’s actions hurt her that deeply?
Perhaps it was both.
She had been married to Chase for three years, and during those three years he had never touched her.
How had she endured those years? And now, what kind of feelings did she still have toward Chase?
Even if she rejected him now, she seemed equally guarded around every other man.
Did Chase still occupy some corner of her heart? A man that vile and shameless did not deserve even a fraction of her affection.
Julian’s eyes filled with quiet sympathy.
Quinn suddenly shifted. Julian quickly looked away.
All the awkwardness, panic, and loss of control he had experienced in his entire life seemed to have appeared only after Quinn entered it.
The hospital room fell silent again. She probably had not woken up yet, so he glanced over once more.
This time, he met her eyes.
Her dark, clear gaze was fixed directly on him. The two of them looked at each other.
She had just woken up, and the lingering fever made her reactions slow. Her lashes fluttered as confusion and innocence filled her eyes.
“How are you feeling?” Julian asked. “Any better?”
Quinn suddenly came back to her senses and quickly looked away, her heart racing.
Why had she been staring at Julian like that? And for so long?
“I feel… a little better,” she said.
In truth, she did not.
Her throat felt dry and sore, and her head was still heavy and foggy. She wondered if Julian felt just as uncomfortable,
But when she had looked at him just now, he seemed completely alert, as if being sick had not affected him at all.
People often said true beauty came from bone structure rather than surface features.
That saying did not apply only to women.

It applied to men as well.
Julian had exceptional bone structure and sharply defined features that almost gave him the look of someone with mixed heritage.
His nose was straight and prominent, and his jawline was incredibly sharp.
Quinn had seen plenty of handsome men in her life, and Chase had always been considered good- looking.
But standing next to Julian, Chase did not even stand a chance.
Julian was not only handsome, his posture and natural presence elevated him even further.
Chase had broad shoulders and a narrow waist too, but if Chase looked like an average photo in a customer review, Julian looked like the flawless promotional picture used by the brand itself.
The difference between them was enormous.
And somewhere in the back of Quinn’s mind, she vaguely remembered that Julian’s abs were incredibly firm.
Oh my God. What am I even thinking?
Right before Julian’s eyes, her face turned bright red.
He raised his hand and pressed the call button beside the bed. Gunnar arrived in person.
“What’s going on?” he asked.
Julian said, “Check her temperature. I think her fever might be coming back.”
Gunnar also noticed the redness on Quinn’s face. He quickly took out a thermometer while muttering to himself.
“That shouldn’t be happening. She already had the fever medicine, so the temperature should have gone down by now.”
A beep sounded.
The thermometer showed ninety–nine point seven degrees Fahrenheit.
“It’s lower,” he said with relief. “Then why is your face so red?”
How could Quinn possibly explain that?
Julian spoke from the side.
“Maybe the room is a little warm, and the blanket is thick. She might just be overheating.”
Quinn quickly added, “Yes, it does feel a little warm.”

Gunnar smiled. “That makes sense. The fever is dropping, and sweating is normal. Once the IV is done, just wipe the sweat off and you’ll feel better.”
Then he looked at Julian.
“How about you?”
Julian gave him a warning look.
Gunnar had only been teasing him, so he chuckled.
“You both need IV treatment for three days. Don’t ignore my instructions, or this could get worse.”
