“How do you know she was sick?”

“Hey, don’t get the wrong idea. I haven’t been in contact with her,” Zeke said quickly. “I stopped by Gunnar’s clinic earlier and happened to see her medical record.”

Julian did not respond.

Zeke shook his head in disbelief. “Seriously? I can’t even mention her name? Your possessiveness is getting a little intense”

Julian replied calmly. “Don’t pay attention to her. Don’t interfere with her life.”

“Alright, alright.” Zeke said with a grin. “Until you actually win her over, I’ll stay out of it. I’m just curious. How exactly did you end up falling for her?”

Julian clearly had no interest in answering.

Zeke opened his mouth as if he wanted to continue talking, but Julian set down his fork.

“Doesn’t eating keep your mouth busy enough?” Julian said.

After that, he stood up, put on his coat, and left.

Zeke called after him, “Hey! Who put you in a bad mood today? Why are you taking it out on me? What did I do?”

Julian really was in a bad mood.

But the person he was angry with was himself,

If he had been able to control the situation that night and immediately put Quinn into cold water to bring down her fever, she would not have been half-conscious when things between them became intimate.

“Why didn’t you step in and handle her divorce?”

With Julian’s influence, a single word from him would be enough. Chase and even Charles would not dare object.

The moment she finished asking, Veronica regretted it.

The answer was obvious.

Julian always put Quinn first.

By staying out of the divorce, he avoided giving anyone the impression that he had been involved with Quinn while she was still married.

Veronica asked another question. “So what now? You’re not planning to see her for the time being?”

“For now, no,” Julian replied. “Help her finish the divorce process first.”
