Chapter 96 His Real Intention
Julian smiled. “Come on. I was planning to visit you sometime this week anyway.”
Adele waved a hand. “I’m not young. I can see right through you.”
She chuckled. “Stop looking around. She already left.”

Julian was always relaxed around Adele. Otherwise his thoughts wouldn’t have been so easy to read.
Now he understood she had simply been teasing him.
He laughed softly. “You really enjoy watching me get embarrassed, don’t you?”
“It doesn’t happen often.” Adele said happily. “Let an old lady have some fun.”
Julian asked, “Why did she come by today? Is her cold better?”
“You even know she had a cold,” Adele said with a raised brow. “Tell me honestly. What exactly are your intentions?”
Julian didn’t bother hiding it.
“When she’s officially single,” he said calmly, “I’m going to pursue her.”
“She told me about the divorce,” Adele said. “Quinn is a wonderful girl. I’ve known her for years. Let me ask you one thing. Are you serious?”
Julian looked at her. “Do I really seem like the kind of guy who plays around with people’s feelings?”
Adele sighed softly. “I believe you. But the gap between the two of you is huge. Family background, status, social circle. Maybe you don’t care, but Quinn will.”.
“I know,” Julian said. “I’ve thought about all of that. Don’t worry. I have a plan.”
“That’s good.”
Adele nodded slowly.
“I’m not going to lecture you about loving her forever or never letting her down. No one can predict relationships. But promise me one thing. Don’t ever betray her. If you love her, love her well. If one day you don’t, then end things honestly.”
Julian lowered his eyes and looked at the carved wooden pattern on the table,
“In my world,” he said quietly, “there’s no such thing as a clean breakup. With her, it’s only ever going to be for life.”
Adele studied him.
“Loyalty is admirable,” she said. “But the most important thing is that Quinn chooses you willingly. You understand what I mean?”

“I do.” Julian stood up.
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll head out.”
Adele teased him again. “Disappointed she’s not here? She came this afternoon and even stayed for dinner with me. If you want to see her. I can ask her to stop by tomorrow.”
Julian shook his head. “No need. Whatever happens between us should happen naturally.”
“So you don’t want me saying a few nice things about you to her?”
“No.”
Julian adjusted his coat.
“If she ever likes me, I want it to be because of what she’s seen herself. Because of what she’s experienced. Because she understands who I am. Not because someone else praised me.”
Adele reached out and straightened his collar.
“Do you even know how to chase a girl?” she asked with a laugh. “Or how to make one happy?”
She tapped his shoulder.
“You always look so serious. Smile a little more. Quinn is gentle and soft-hearted. Don’t scare the poor girl.”
“Got it.”
“And your family…” Adele looked worried. “Will they agree?”
Julian raised an eyebrow. “Do you really think they get to decide my life?”
“Well, that’s true,” Adele admitted. “You’re capable enough that no one can control you.”
“But you still have to consider this. What if they go after Quinn instead? Could she handle that pressure?”
Julian nodded slowly. “Thank you for the reminder. I’ll keep that in mind.”
He was mature and reliable, and Adele trusted him.
If the two of them truly ended up together one day, she would be more than happy to see it.
Julian reached the door, then suddenly turned back. “If you have time,” he said, “maybe mention something to Quinn.”
“What?”
“A man five years older,” he said calmly, “isn’t exactly old.”
Adele burst out laughing. “What happened? Did Quinn call you old?”

Julian had never worried about his age, height, or appearance. A man’s presence came from his power and
ability.
The law of survival, the strongest rising to the top, still applied in modern society.
Jalian stood at the very top of that food chain. He could look down on the world because he had the ability to stand there.
Not because of his height or looks. And certainly not because of his age.
But today, in front of Quinn, he had taken a real hit.
Nothing and no one had ever stirred his emotions before. Quinn was the only exception.
After saying goodbye to Adele, three days passed without Julian seeing Quinn. He didn’t hear anything about her either,
Quinn had been busy working on Harold’s jewelry design.
During those three days, the two of them met three times.
Once. Quinn even went directly to Harold’s hotel. There was no other choice.
Harold was incredibly busy, and that day his business conference was being held at the hotel. Quinn had rushed over, quickly rented a room for a meeting, and they discussed the design there.
After three meetings, the first draft of the design was basically finalized.
What remained were smaller details.
Harold was meticulous by nature, and his expectations for the jewelry design sketches were extremely high.
