Ditched the Cheater, Pregnant by Mr. Righ novel Chapter 97

Chapter 97 Late Night Design

Firushed

Every time Harold met with Quinn, he liked to share little things about his wife, the habits she had, the funny moments they had gone through during their marriage.

The more she listened, the more Quinn could feel how deeply he loved his wife,

Just like Veronica had once said, a marriage like that was something people envied.

Harold was successful in his carcer, mature, calm, and well respected. Plenty of men with the same status, or even worse backgrounds, still ended up cheating,

But Harold had stayed loyal.

That alone left Quinn with a very good impression of him.

After one of their meetings, she even talked about it with Lucy.

Lucy said. “My cousin told me about them. Harold and his wife have been married for thirty years. Everyone in their circle says they’re the most devoted couple you’ll ever see.”

She looked at Quinn. “Did Chase’s dad contact you?”

Quinn shook her head. “I’m going to finish this design draft first. Then I’ll go talk to him.”

Lucy nodded. “Yeah, you should hurry up and end this marriage. Once that’s done, you can find someone decent. See? Men like Harold exist. Not every guy in the world is trash like Chase, right?”

Quinn smiled faintly, “How many men like Harold are there, though?”

She shrugged lightly. “Don’t worry about me. Even if I never date again, I’ll still live a good life.”

Just then her phone rang.

Quinn glanced at the screen and immediately answered.

“Mr. Whitman, hello.”

Harold’s calm voice came through the phone. “Do you have time right now? There’s something I’d like to show you. My wife used to love a pair of earrings. I think it might give you some inspiration.”

They had been going back and forth about the earring design for days.

Quinn said quickly, “Yes, I have time. Where are you? I can come over now.”

After she hung up, Lucy leaned against the couch and sighed.

“He’s still thinking about this project this late at night. That’s real dedication. But it’s getting late. Quinn. I’ll go with you.”

“No need.” Quinn grabbed her coat and started putting it on. “It’s not even nine yet. I’ll go take a quick look and come right back. We can still chat when I get home.”

Fimshed

Lucy yawned. “Fine, but wear something warmer. You just got over a cold.”

“I know.”

This time Quinn was meeting Harold at a hotel.

When she arrived, Harold explained that he had been attending a business dinner earlier. He had a few drinks and didn’t feel comfortable driving home, so he booked a room at the hotel for the night.

“My wife always worries about my health,” Harold said with a small smile as he poured Quinn a glass of water. “She hates it when I drink. If she finds out, she’ll feel bad for me and be mad at me at the same

time.”

He looked apologetic. “Sorry for making you come all the way out here so late.”

Quinn quickly shook her head. “Please don’t apologize. This is part of my job.”

They went over the earrings together. Quinn explained several design concepts, but Harold still wasn’t completely satisfied.

Time passed before either of them noticed.

When Harold finally nodded in approval, Quinn checked her phone.

It was already almost eleven. That was definitely late.

Harold stood up immediately. “It’s too late for you to head back alone. Let me have someone drive you home.”

Quinn began packing up her sketches, “It’s okay. I drove here myself.”

“It started snowing again this afternoon,” Harold said. “The roads are probably freezing by now. I’d feel terrible letting you drive alone.”

He looked at her kindly. “If you think of me as an elder, then let me take you home.”

After hearing that, Quinn couldn’t refuse.

Harold called his driver. The two of them went downstairs together, and Quinn got into Harold’s car.

By the time she arrived home, it was already eleven thirty.

Lucy was sitting on the couch. When she saw Quinn changing her shoes, she yawned.

“Why are you back so late?”

“We tried a few different design directions before he liked one,” Quinn said. “You look sleepy. Why didn’t you just go to bed?”

“I didn’t nap this afternoon, so I’m crashing now.” Lucy stretched. “But I wanted to make sure you got home safe. Now I can sleep.”

She walked toward her bedroom. “I’m going to bed.”

Quinn didn’t sleep yet.

Finished

While the ideas were still fresh in her mind, she sat down and reorganized the design sketches again.

Early the next morning, she sent the updated design to Harold.

Then she called Charles.

Before Quinn could even speak, Charles said, “Quinn, what’s going on? Chase said he can’t find you.”

It had been four or five days since Quinn last saw Chase,

He had no idea they had moved.

He didn’t know where they were living now.

He went to Lucy’s old loft to look for Quinn. He knocked for a long time, but no one answered. Eventually

a neighbor came out and told him they had moved away.

Her phone calls wouldn’t go through, and his messages got no replies.

Chase’s patience had run out.

Charles had already heard about all of it. So when Quinn called, he started scolding her right away.

“No matter what happened, hiding isn’t the solution. Problems have to be solved, don’t they? You won’t answer calls. you won’t reply to messages, and he doesn’t even know where you live. How are you two supposed to move forward with the divorce?”

Quinn asked calmly. “Did he contact me to talk about the divorce?”

Charles paused before replying.

“Quinn, he wants to change. Why can’t you give him another chance? I’m his father. Isn’t my guarantee enough? If he ever does something like that again, I promise I won’t let him get away with it.”

Quinn said quietly, “If he does it again, I might not survive it.”

She continued, her voice steady.

“I value my life too much to gamble with it.”

Then she asked, “If you knew something would destroy you, would you still walk straight into it?”
