Chapter 53
Amelia’s POV
My hand was still bleeding when they brought in the next injured warrior,
“Please,” the man whispered, his face twisted in pain. A deep gash ran across his shoulder. Please help me
I didn’t hesitate. Dr. Merrick held out another vial, and I let more blood drip into it. My palm throbbed, burl pushed feeling away.
The moment my blood touched his wound, the same miracle happened. The torn skin pulled together, dolor returning his face. He gasped, staring at his healed shoulder in disbelief.
Thank you,” he breathed.
One by one, they brought in the wounded. Each time, my blood worked. Each time, they healed.
By the tenth person, my vision started to blur. My legs felt weak. I gripped the table to steady myself.
A warm hand touched my shoulder.
I turned. Ryder stood behind me, fully awake now. His eyes were clear, alert-so different from the half-conscious state he’d been in just minutes ago when we’d healed him first.
“Baby,” he said gently. “Stop. You’ve done enough.”
I’m fine,” I said, though my voice shook. “There are still more people who need help.”
“Look at yourself.” Ryder stood, moving toward me. “You’re pale. You need to stop before you collapse.”
These people are hurt because of what happened,” I insisted. “I have to help them/
“This wasn’t your fault,” Ryder said, his hand reaching for mine. “Jasper did this. Not you.”
Another injured pack member was carried in. I pulled away from Ryder’s touch.
“I’m not stopping,” I said quietly. “Not until everyone is healed.”
Finally, the last person was healed. A teenage boy with a broken leg. The blood worked its magic one final time.
It’s done,” Dr. Merrick said softly. “Everyone’s healed.”

members crowded around me, faces filled with gratitude. My legs buckled. Ryder caught me before I hit the ground.

The eldest elder stepped forward, and the room fell quiet. He looked different now-the hardness in his eyes had softened
Amelia,” he said. “On behalf of this pack, I must thank you.”
He lowered his head slightly, and gasps rippled through the crowd.

“You have proven yourself beyond any doubt,” he continued. “We were wrong about you. From this moment forward, lett be known that Amelia is our Luna. Our rightful Lama.
The room exploded with cheers. Pack members howled, the sound echoing off the walls.
The eldest elder turned back to me. “Do you accept

I took a breath and stepped forward. “I accept,” I said. “I promise down.”
More cheers. More howls.
Slowly, the crowd dispersed. Even Dr. Merrick excused himself, leaving Ryder and me alone.
I turned to look at Ryder properly. My chest tightened.
When my blood had first touched his wounds, they’d closed up instantly. The torn flesh had knit back together like magic and when he’d woken up moments later, he’d looked perfectly fine. Healthy, Strong. Like he’d never been hurt at all.
But now something was different. Terribly different.
His face looked strained, his breathing too quick and shallow. Sweat beaded on his forehead even though the room wasn’t warm. His hands trembled slightly at his sides.
“Ryder?” I stepped closer, worry flooding through me. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” he said, but his voice sounded tight. Forced.
“You don’t look fine.” I reached for his hand, and my heart jumped. His skin was burning hot-way hotter than it should be. “You’re burning up! What’s wrong?”
Before he could answer, Dr. Merrick burst back in, his face pale.
“Amelia,” he said quickly. “I need to speak with you. It’s about the Alpha.”
“What’s wrong?” Alarm shot through me.
“When Jasper attacked him, the wounds weren’t just physical. His claws were laced with a toxin,” Merrick said grimly. “One
system. that targets the wolf spirit. Your blood healed his wounds, but the poison is still in his
My blood went cold. “What does that mean?”
“It triggers a berserk state,” Merrick said. “His wolf will go wild. He won’t be able to control it. He could hurt people. Kill people. Everyone could be in danger.”
“There has to be something we can do,” I said desperately.
“I’m working on it,” Merrick said. “But we need to get him somewhere safe. Contained.”
“I’m not going anywhere,” Ryder growled. His eyes flashed gold for a second.
“You don’t have a choice,” Merrick said firmly.
Ryder looked like he wanted to argue, but another tremor ran through him. “Fine. But Amelia stays away.
“No,” I said immediately. “I’m not leaving you.”
Baby-”

No! You protected me. I’m not abandoning you now.”
Together, we guided Ryder to the hospital wing. By the time we got there, his skin was gray and stick with,
get him onto the bed before his body seized up, muscles locking.
“Hold him down!” Merrick shouted.
I grabbed Ryder’s arm. He thrashed, his strength overwhelming. His eyes rolled back, then snapped forward-pure gol now, wild and unseeing.
A low growl rumbled from his chest.
“His wolf is fighting for control,” Merrick said urgently.
Ryder’s hand shot out, throwing Merrick across the room.
“Merrick!” I screamed.
The door burst open. Beta Lucas rushed in with two nurses.
“What’s happening?” Lucas demanded.
“The toxin,” I said quickly. “It’s taking over.”
“Try the silver restraints,” one nurse suggested.
“No!” Merrick called out “saver will make the wolf panic more.”
“Then what do we do?” Lucas asked desperately.
A sharp laugh cut through the chaos.
Camille stood in the doorway, arms crossed. “Looks like your precious Luna’s miracle cure wasn’t so miraculous after all.”
“Get out, Camille,” Lucas said coldly.
“You did this to him,” Camille said, eyes locked on me with venom. “Your blood, your curse-you’re the reason he’s like this.”
“That’s not true,” I said. “Jasper poisoned him.”
“And who was Jasper fighting over?” Camille shot back. “You’re a walking disaster. Our Alpha is dying because of her!”
“Shut up, Camille,” Lucas snapped. “You have no idea-”
“I know exactly what I’m talking about! Don’t be fooled by her so-called abilities. A curse is a curse-and she’s cursed. Accep it!”
Something inside me snapped.
Lyra surged forward. Power exploded through me, and the air turned heavy. Everyone in the room dropped to their knees.
Including Camille.
“Enough.” My voice came out layered with Lyra’s growl.
Camille’s face went white.
“I don’t have time for your jealousy,” I said. “Ryder is in danger. That’s all that
