Escaping the Alpha, Claimed in the End novel Chapter 88

Chapter 88

AMELIA’s pov

“I don’t think you would really do that though. ” I said, and smiled slightly at the young woman.

She raised a brow at me, as though curious about how calm I was acting.

“And why would you think that?”

“Because I believe you’re a good person and I recognize you from the encounter I had with Jasper and Camille earlier.” stepped through the threshold of her house.

The air inside smelled of dried herbs and something faintly sweet. Like crushed lavender and smoke.

When she didn’t send me out, I got a little closer to her.

“You were the only one who didn’t try to attack Ryder and I.”

“ah.” The witch whispered and nodded slowly, “I would have figured that you were too occupied to notice me.”

“Oh I was occupied, but I was also really aware of my surroundings. Plus, you have features that are hard to forget.”

The beads she wore in her dreaded hair, and her mismatched eyes, were simply too hard to miss.

Plus, there was unmistakable power in her gaze.

“Fine then. You got me, I was there. So what do you want? How can I help you?”

My smile broadened, “I know you’re very powerful, so I need you to use some of that power to break the link my pup Noa shares with that b*tch, Camille.”

She didn’t immediately reply. Instead, she looked at Noah for the longest time before she slowly nodded.

“Very well then. I can see the link between them is strong, but it doesn’t run very deep. I can break it.”

“Thank you.” I gushed, instantly feeling grateful, but she held up a finger, giving me pause.

“I said I could break it, but my service isn’t going to come free.”

“Any amount you want.” I said easily. I would pay any price for my puppy’s freedom.

“I don’t really want money, but I do want to request a favor from you.” She said and I nodded, prompting her to ask away. “I have a sister. A couple of months ago, she attended a Banquet hosted by Jasper and has vanished ever since. I need your help to find her,”

“I see.” I said, considering the situation.

“I know you’re strong.” The witch quickly added, “You and Ryder must possess an incredible amount of power to have been able to get back your puppy, even after being attacked by so many people at a time.”

“Power, and a mother’s love. Maybe all of it.” I said warmly, and her eyes shone with hope. She clearly loved her sister. “I’ll help you.”

This time around, it was she who gushed in gratitude.

‘I just need you to let me know what your sister looks like. That would give me something to go on with.”

she and I took together. We look so much alike. Only when my hair is locked in dreads, she’s grown out her curly hair it’s so ethereal.”

I smiled at the picture of them together, and yes indeed. They do look so much alike.

Same bone structure, same sharp jawline. But the sister’s eyes were soft, open and quietly aware.

“This will do. I’ll do all I can to get your sister back, don’t you worry.”

“Then we have a deal,” the witch replied.

She stood upright and extended her hand.

The air between us hummed faintly, as if recognising our agreement.

“Thank you, Amelia. And don’t you worry as well, Noah will be free from the connection he has with that diabolical won they call Camille.”

I smiled and looked down at Noah.

Safe to say that for the first time since all of this began, I felt like I was actually doing something and not just reacting.

And that felt powerful.

RYDER’s pov

I woke up feeling so groggy and disoriented.

When I finally came to, I reached out across the bed, to hold on to Amelia, but my hand fell on the empty space beside m

“What?” I murmured and opened my eyes to find the room empty. Both Amelia and the pup were gone.

Every ounce of sleepiness quickly vanished and I got out of the bed to go search for them.
