Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2793

As if sensing her gaze, the man turned to meet her almost naked stare. He raised an eyebrow, a hint of cold mockery in his expression.

Sylvia turned her head away, a faint blush creeping up from her cheeks to her ears, like a stroke of rouge.

Yes, she must be drunk.

After that brief, charged exchange, the atmosphere settled back into a comfortable silence. Sylvia curled up in the large chair, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the peaceful ambiance of the wedding.

Before she knew it, she had fallen asleep.

In an unfamiliar place, with the faint sounds of festivities in the background, she had somehow drifted off.

Even in a large, comfortable bed at night, she often struggled with insomnia or woke with a start, yet here, she slept soundly.

Gabriel stood up, retrieved a cushion, and walked over to her. He gently cupped her face, lifted her head, and placed the cushion beneath it, carefully turning the embroidered side down.

His long fingers brushed against her delicate, soft skin. A nearly inaudible sigh escaped his sharp, chiseled lips.

Returning to his seat, he silenced his phone. When calls came in, he would glance at the screen before declining them and returning to his wine.

He found social gatherings filled with flattery and obsequiousness tiresome. The quiet here was what felt truly comfortable.

Mrs. Winters was so focused on currying favor with Evelyn that she had completely forgotten about Aries. Besides, the entire estate was guarded by security, and with it being the Lamont family’s big day, it was surely safe inside.

Aries wandered off on his own and soon ran into two of his classmates.

Both Charlie and Emily were busy today, so Kya had been with Mrs. James the whole time.

While they were in the garden, a few ladies who knew Mrs. James came over to chat. Mrs. James kept an eye on Kya, who was picking flowers nearby, as she talked.

Suddenly, a boy ran up and showed Mrs. James his dark phone screen. “My phone’s dead, and I can’t find my mom. Could you make a call for me?”

Mrs. James smiled warmly and nodded, taking out her own phone to dial for him.

The boy recited the first six digits, then suddenly said, “Wait, that’s wrong. Let me start over.”

Mrs. James looked at the boy, her gentle expression shifting slightly. She realized he was blocking her view of Kya. She immediately stood and pushed him aside, just in time to see two boys his age carrying Kya and running toward the adjacent garden.

One of the boys held Kya while clamping a hand over her mouth. Three-year-old Kya kicked her legs frantically but couldn’t make a sound.
