She pulls my chin up, “Your mother is happy. She loved you and she doesn’t blame you. She has only ever wanted you safe. She still only wants you safe, which means figuring this out. Okay?” My eyes start watering, ” You’ve talked to her?” I whisper, she smiles. “I can sense her and feel her energy. She’s still here, doing what she can to protect you.” I feel the tears fall from my eyes at her words. My mom’s still here, she’s still with me. That puts a smile on my face.
She jumps up, “Okay! I’ll talk to my coven leaders, but first things first. Let’s check on those babies!” She exclaims. Babies! Is this conformation? She walks to my side and puts her hands on my stomach. Nick and I just wait with bated breath.
After what felt like forever, she looks up at me smiling. “They’re healthy. Do you want to know what they are?” I look at her shocked and nod. “You have a handsome boy and a beautiful girl.” My tears start up again as I hold onto my stomach. Our two babies, our boy and our girl. I want nothing more than to call Liam and tell him. It makes me cry more, knowing I can’t. She looks at me sadly, “All the more reason to figure this out. We need to get you back to him and your babies back to their dad.” I look at her confused. Can she read my mind? It’s the second time she’s done that. She chuckles, “I can’t read your mind. I can read your energy and your aura. I can infer the rest based on the conversation we’re having. I smile, I’m not sure if I can trust her, but something is telling me I can.
“Okay, you guys it’s been a long day. Why don’t you go back to your motel and get some rest. Come back tomorrow, and we’ll see what we can work up.” She says sweetly, helping me to my feet. I look over at her, “Can I ask you something?” She nods. “A werewolf pregnancy. How long do they last?” She smiles, “They usually last seven months. But your case is special. You won’t be giving birth as a werewolf but as a human. You also have twins so I’m sorry I can’t give you a timetable. What I can tell you unfortunately is that it won’t be an easy birth. I don’t want to scare you, but I want you to be prepared. Your human body is going to be giving birth to two wolf babies, it won’t be easy.” She explains, and my face goes pale. Nick grabs my hand smiling reassuringly at me. I was already scared and now that I know that, it’s even more terrifying.
I nod, slowly getting my composure back, “Also, before we leave. What’s you name?” She smiles, “My name is Hazel.”
